Much More

Lord, by your grace, I begin to know the most important commandment. I love you, Lord, with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with all my strength.  I realize that to love you with all the heart and with all the understanding is much more than burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Who is my family? Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.  I do your will, father. I look upon the son, and I believe in him, and I have eternal life. You will raise me up in the last day.  Your spirit gives me life, the flesh is no help at all. The words you have spoken are spirit and life. These are the words of eternal life.

Personal Conviction Cont.

I should record and remember all of his past faithfulnesses to me; of the times he has broken loaves and met my needs. In this way I remind myself that he is the God of creation, that he can still calm storms and make provision.

If I truly believe that Jesus is the Christ, then that has to move me to perceive him as all that matters and all that I need. He is all and in all

Now practically I still live in this world and live in this fleshly vessel, but to the extent that I can move myself into Christ I’ve become free of the world.  I can have family and occupations and interests, but leave them in God’s care and enjoy the freedom of that.  Free from anxiety, the opinions of others, choices of others, foolishness of leaders, I belong to Christ and I am hidden in him, with my eyes on him.  I hear his voice and I follow.

Personal Conviction

I need to understand! I need to understand the consequences of, if I really believe Jesus is the Christ. Not just intellectually agreeing with that, but coming to understand what, “Jesus being the Christ “, means from God, the father’s perspective.

If I believe Jesus is really the Messiah (the Christ) then that has to change me, in fact, it has to begin to transform me. If he is the Christ, then he is the way, the only way.  He is the pearl of great price and I need to be exchanging all that I have to receive him and truly belong to Him.

Looking into, that is peering into, Christ is what I need to be doing with the first fruits of my time. Feeding on him should be my primary personal involvement and almost exclusive occupation. I should marinate my mind in the words of my Lord Jesus until I think his thoughts and until my intentions become his intentions.

No Other Message

“nothing else to say and no other message except, “behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. “”

“We can fly and the word of God is our wings!”

James 1

I receive with meekness the ingrafted word which is able to save my soul. Blessed is the man who is steadfast under trial for when he has stood he will receive the crown of life.

I Peter

I have been born again, not of perishable seed, but a imperishable through the living and abiding word of God. “The word of God remains forever.” This is the good news that has been preached to me.

I am one of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of God’s own possession, that I may proclaim the excellencies of God who has called me out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Christ Rules My Heart

Luke 12; Col. 3

I do not fear for it is my father’s good pleasure to give me the kingdom! I put on then as God’s chosen one, holy and beloved, a compassionate heart, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. I bear with others, and, if I have a complaint against another I forgive them as God has forgiven me.

Above all these things I put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. I let the peace of Christ rule in my heart to which indeed I am called. I am a part of the body of Christ, the church.

The word of Christ dwells in me richly, teaching and admonishing me in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in my heart to God.  Whatever I do, in word or deed, I do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him!

I Hold On

Father, I do not forget your teaching. My heart keeps your commandments, and length of days and years of life and peace are added to me.  I hold on to your steadfast love and faithfulness. I bind them around my neck. I write them on the tablet of my heart. With that I find favor and good success in your sight, father, and in the sight of man.

I trust in you, Lord, with all my heart. I do not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge you, father, and you make my path straight. I am not wise in my own eyes. I fear you, Lord, and turn away from evil. That is healing to my flesh and refreshment to my bones. I honor you, Lord, with my wealth and the first fruits of all my produce; my barns are filled with plenty and my vats are bursting with wine!

Reality In Prayer

Observation: some may struggle with prayer because they focus on prayer and not on God

Father, you make known to me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever more. I love you, oh Lord, my strength.  You are my rock and my fortress and my deliver; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I call upon you, Lord, you are worthy to be praised and I am saved from my enemies.

Sanctified Wholly

I Peter 5; 1 Thess. 5

Lord God, you are mighty and I humble myself under your mighty hand. I cast all my cares upon you for I know that you care for me. I am sober and vigilant; I know I have an adversary; I resist him steadfastly with my faith in you, father, and in Jesus, my savior.

Thank you, father God, the God of all grace, for calling me into your eternal glory by Christ Jesus and I thank you that you, father, with your spirit and your word restore me, confirm me, strengthen and establish me.

You, the very God of peace, sanctify me wholly and preserve my whole spirit, soul and body blameless until the coming of my Lord Jesus, the Christ.  Thank you, Lord, that by your grace and the righteousness of Christ you establish my heart unblamable in holiness before you!

Christ Is All And In All

My Lord Jesus is Creator, sustainer, Lord, God and reconciler. He is all those persons and positions by God, the father’s, will and determination.  Therefore, he is all and in all. Everything I need for life and godliness is in him.  I am complete in him!

My work is to believe that, and to seek, ask and knock; to be, “conformed to the image of Jesus the Christ; to be in Christ and him in me. ”

This is God’s will for me; so God is for it. The love of God, the grace of the Lord Jesus and the communion of the Holy Spirit are in place and able.  All the creation waits for me to understand that I am lost without Christ as Savior and Lord, and that I will now follow after him with diligence, and expectation, and determination, and good doctrine.  I will bend down and look into the perfect law of liberty. I will follow. I will decrease and Jesus the Christ will increase.

Answers

God often doesn’t give us answers, but he gives us himself. (He is the answer to any and all. Col 1:27)

Therefore, we should not be so desperate for answers as we are desperate for the God who is the answer; who redeems the past and holds the future in his hands!

Be desperate for the relationship; sit at his feet and listen to his heart. Walk with him. Follow him in his way.

Joy and peace are full in his presence. The world has problems, our Lord has peace. “come and get it.” ” come unto him and find rest. ”

A childlike understanding that we need God: we claim him and cling to him above all else.

We fight and prevail over anxiety with humility before God and ceaseless prayers.

Here I am father!
