Ephesians 5&6

Lord Jesus, you have loved me, and you have given yourself for me. Now I walk in the light, for you are the light of men, Lord. You are the true light. You shine in the darkness, and for all who are yours, the light prevails. Those who are not called by you do not comprehend the light.

Now I seek you, Lord, and your ways. I want to live a life acceptable and pleasing to you. I understand what your will for me is. I am filled with your spirit.

I speak out to all in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. I make melody in my heart to you, Lord, giving thanks always, for all things, to God, our father, in your name, Lord Jesus.

I love my wife, as you, Lord, are my example of love. I give myself for her. We live together in your word, and she grows strong and sweet in your spirit. I want to be all she needs in a husband. Make that so, Holy Spirit.

Now, I stand strong in you, Lord, and in the power and presence of you, Holy Spirit, as you dwell in me and lead me in truth, faith, and righteousness. I am covered by the armor of God, our father, and I am able to withstand in the evil day and do all you have for me to do Lord. I can stand.

True Righteousness and Holiness

Ephesians 4; Romans 8; Ephesians 4

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your ministry gifts to those who minister to your body, the church, so that all who are in your body would be edified, that we would come to a unity of the faith and knowledge of the “true” Jesus.

Through your ministry gifts, I am perfected toward the measure of your character, Lord Jesus. By your spirit and your word, I am conformed to the image of you, my Lord Jesus Christ.

Now I am no longer a child tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine and by the trickery of man. No, now I speak the truth in love, and I grow up daily in all the fullness of your lordship, Lord Jesus.

I am joined together, by the Holy Spirit, with other believers, and we are knit together in a body that serves you, and grows and strengthens itself in love.

I know you, Lord Jesus, and your grace has taught me to put off, constantly, my old man, who is corrupt and lustful, and to be renewed, moment by moment, in the spirit of my mind, and then to put on my new man, born from above; a man who is created, according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

Big and Bold and Eternal

Ephesians 3; 1 Corinthians 1; Ephesians 3

Father, thank you for grace to see your unsearchable riches in Christ. Now I am born from above, by your Holy Spirit, and in fellowship with your divine mystery, which, from the beginning of ages has been hidden in you, Father, who created all things through Jesus Christ, your son and my Lord and Savior.

Now I live in you, Father, with Christ as wisdom, redemption, righteousness, and sanctification for me. I live according to your divine purposes, which you accomplish in Christ Jesus. I have boldness and access, with confidence, to you, Father, through Christ, my intercessor.

I do not lose heart in this life. You encourage me and strengthen me to your praise and glory.

You grant me, according to the riches of your glory, strength in my inner man through the person and power of your Holy Spirit. Christ dwells in me now through faith. I am rooted and grounded in your sovereign, all powerful love, Father.

I am able to comprehend, with all your other children, how big and bold and eternal is your love for your son and his creation, and I believe and feel the love Christ Jesus has for me, a love which goes way beyond anything I can ask or think. A love powered and perfected by your very person, God, the Spirit.

I Am Yours, and You Are Mine

Ephesians 3; Colossians 1; Ephesians 1

Thank you, Father, for knowledge of the mystery of Christ. In earlier ages, the sons of men did not know these things, but now, you have revealed to your apostles and prophets, and to me, through their written word, the way of your mysterious purpose and means of your mysterious plan.

You purpose that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs of the same body and partakers of your promise in Christ, through your gospel. You accomplish your plan by placing your Holy Spirit in each of us, Jew or Gentile, who you have predestined to be yours: Christ in me, my sure hope of glory.

So now, by your grace through faith, I am included in Christ, because I heard your word of truth, your gospel, and I believed it. I am sealed by your Holy Spirit, Father, who dwells in me and leads me and is a guarantee to me that I am yours, and you are mine, until my redemption as your purchased bond servant and son, to the praise of your glory and grace.

Ordained Beforehand

Ephesians 2

I was once far off, separated from God, and without hope in this world. But now, in Christ Jesus, I have been brought near by your blood, Lord Jesus. You, yourself, are my peace. You have made me one with you and the Father.

You have created a new man in me. Now I am forgiven and redeemed and brought back to God, our father. I am reconciled to God and made a part of your body, Lord Jesus, through your cross. Through you, I have access, by one spirit, to God and to the kingdom of God.

Now I am no longer a stranger or a foreigner, instead, I am a fellow citizen with the saints and a member of your household, Lord God. Your house is built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, with you, Lord Jesus, as the chief cornerstone.

In you, the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple to our father, while I and all who believe are made a dwelling place for you, Holy Spirit.

I am led by you, Holy Spirit, and I walk in the good works that God, our father, ordained to beforehand to be my mission.

Heavenly Places

Ephesians 1&2

Good morning, Father. You are the Father of Glory and the God of my Lord Jesus Christ. You have called me and chosen me. Thank you for your grace and mercy.

You give to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation, through the living communing knowledge of you. The eyes of my understanding are enlightened. I begin to know the hope of your calling, and I see the riches of the glorious inheritance I have as your son

I believe you, Father, and your word of salvation. You have worked your mighty power in Christ, and now Christ works in me. You made me alive when I was dead in sin and trespasses.

I once walked, according to the course of this world, living as if I was a son of disobedience. But you, Father, because of your great love for me, in your rich mercy, even while I was dead in trespasses, chose to make me alive together with Christ

By grace, you saved me, through faith, and raised me up together and placed me in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Now I belong to you. I am one of your masterpieces.

By and In

Ephesians 1

By your grace and for your purposes, Father, you chose me and determined to “put me in Christ” before the foundation of the world. You moved in my life and flesh in such a way that I would hear the gospel of your salvation, and I would believe your word and find it to be truth.

Through your gift of faith, I would receive Jesus as my savior, and you would fill me with your Holy Spirit, and I would be born from above.

Now, your Holy Spirit witnesses to me and leads me through your word. His presence in me is my guarantee that I belong to you; that I have been bought back from sin by the life of the Lord Jesus; that I am redeemed from death.

You, Father, are glorified by and in my redemption. Thank you for saving me.

Your Grace, Your Gift, and Your Glory

Ephesians 1&2

Father, you made your grace abound toward me in all wisdom and prudence. You have made known to me, and to all who will look, the majesty of your will. It suited your good pleasure to gather together all who were yours, whether Jew or Gentile, and to make us one new people.

You do this by bringing us into faith in Jesus as your Messiah and our Lord. You, through your spirit and your word, show us our sin. You give us a clear understanding of our treason against you.

We did not excuse our ourselves, and instead we confess our sin. You forgive us and cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. You grant us repentance, and we are enabled to turn from our own way and to turn toward your way.

You give us the gift of your Holy Spirit, who births a new man with a divine nature in us. So we have new desires, desires to obey and to serve, desires to be a part of our Lord’s body, the church.

So now, by faith, we, all who you have called and chosen, have redemption through the blood of Jesus, and we have divine righteousness through Jesus’ righteous life. Thank you, Father, for your grace, and your gift, and your glory.

In Due Season

Galatians 6

Hallelujah! I belong to you, Lord Jesus, and I have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Daily, I reckon myself dead to my old man and live anew by your spirit, Lord.

Now trying to perfect the flesh availeth nothing, but growing the new creation in me yields everything and everlasting!

This new life is all from you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so there is no cause for boasting from me, except I boast in the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I am crucified to the world.

Now I live in the peace and mercy of Almighty God. If folks don’t like or believe my doctrine, that’s their problem, because I am sure God has called me, chosen me, justified me, and filled me with his glorious presence.

I am moving on with God. I am trying to live led every moment by the Spirit of God and the word of God.

I set my face toward my savior, and I claim his endurance. I do not grow weary, and I know, in due season, I shall reap. I shall reap everlasting, full joy!

No Limit

Galatians 5

Thank you, Father, for calling me to the liberty that is mine through Christ Jesus, and for choosing me to be saved through faith in Jesus as my Lord. I use this liberty as an opportunity to live in peace and simplicity, and not as an opportunity to indulge my flesh.

In love, I serve you, Father, by serving the “neighbors” you put in my life

Now, by the gift of your Holy Spirit, I walk in your spirit, Father, and I do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh and the spirit are in conflict with one another.

Sometimes I do not do the things I wish, but I am quick to see my error and to repent, and to go back to being led by your spirit and dead to the passion and habits of my flesh.

Now the works of the flesh are evident. They are unclean and do harm to myself and to others. But the fruit of the spirit is sweet. It is filled with love, joy, and peace. It brings life into my heart, my relationships, and my service.

I can indulge in as much fruit of the spirit as I want. There is no limit to how much divine love and life I wish to enjoy!
