Rest in You, Father

Psalms 36; John 1; Psalms 37

Your loving kindness is precious to me, oh God. Therefore, I put my trust in you. I remain under the shadow of your wings. I am abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house.

You give me drink from the river of your pleasures, father. In you I have the fountain of life. In your light I see light.

The light of man is in the life of the Lord Jesus. His life and light shine in the darkness and the darkness can never overcome his life. His life is the true light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

I received the Lord Jesus as the Messiah and as my savior. I believe in his name as Savior and lord.

I trust in him and believe on him as God, my father’s, Messiah. I am God’s child and I dwell in the land and feed on God’s faithfulness. I delight myself in the Lord and he gives me the desires of my heart.

I rest in you, father, and wait patiently on you. You fill my heart and mind with your presence, and I cease from anger and do not fret.

You Uphold Me

Psalms 37; Colossians 1; John 16; Romans 8; Psalms 37

I trust in you, father, and I am saved. I wait upon you, lord, and I keep your ways.

By your grace and presence in me, I’m joined to you in fellowship and communion. Christ dwells in me now through your Holy Spirit, father, and that is glorious and fills me with hope and peace and joy.

Holy Spirit, you guide me into all truth. You glorify Jesus Christ in me. You take the things, the truths and blessings, of Jesus, and you declare them to me. You bear witness with my spirit that I am God’s child, and since I am his child, I am an heir: an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ.

Father, I am blameless in your sight, and my future is peace. I live forever in your salvation and you are my strength in time of trouble. My mouth speaks wisdom and my tongue talks of justice. Your law, father, is in my heart. I show mercy and I give.

My steps are ordered by you, Lord. You delight in my obedience. Even when I stumble you catch me and uphold me with your hand. You preserve me forever.

No Condemnation

Psalms 34, 23 & 34; John 17; Psalms 34

I bless you, lord, at all times. Praise for you is continually in my mouth. I have tasted your presence and your word and your ways, father, and I know that you are good.

You are my shepherd and I want for nothing. There is no want to me because I fear you, lord. I seek you daily, lord, and you hear me, and you deliver me from all my fears. Your angels encamp all around me, father, and they deliver me

I seek you, lord, and I lack no good thing. I cry out and you deliver me. I cry out today, holy spirit, “take charge of my every word and thought. Keep my tongue from evil.” Today, by your grace, I am free from evil. I do good. I seek peace, and I pursue it.

There are afflictions and tribulations in this world, but you deliver me from them all. I am of good cheer because in Christ I have overcome the world. The Lord redeems my soul every day and all day forever, and I am not condemned.

Whether Present or Absent

Galatians 5; 1 Corinthians 6; 2 Corinthians 4 & 5

Thank you, lord, for your presence in me. Fill me, holy spirit, and take charge of my every thought. For I am no longer my own. I belong to the Father for I have been bought with a price.

By your grace, father, I am filled with your spirit and in communion with you. I have your presence in me like a treasure filling an earthen vessel. All that is right in me is from your power and presence, and not from my “power”.

Circumstances around me may press me but I am not crushed. I may be perplexed by this world but by your sweet fellowship and perfect promises I do not despair.

I am dead to my flesh, and to the world system because the life of Jesus manifests in my flesh. I know that you, father, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise me up with him and present me to yourself.

So, I am always confident knowing that while I am at home in the body I am absent from the Lord. And when absent from the body I am fully present with the lord. But, whether present or absent, father, make me pleasing to you today. For that is my aim.

Communion

2 Peter 1; Psalms 119; John 8

Thank you, father, for giving me a living, saving faith through your love, and through the righteousness of my savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. You make yourself known to me, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Through your word and your indwelling presence I am born again, and I live in your glory. I have everything I need for life and godliness.

You, holy spirit, wield the precious and very great promises of God around in my mind and heart, so that, through a renewed mind, I am a joyful partaker of your divine nature, and I escape the corruption that is in this world because of sin.

I walk in freedom today because I have sought your precepts. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

I continue in your word, your precious and great promises. I am indeed your disciple. By your word, and by your grace and communion, I know the truth and the truth keeps me free.

Raised Up

2 Corinthians 5 & 4

Thank you, father, for calling me to your salvation and for placing me in Christ. By your grace, I am a new creature. The ine old things have passed away, behold, everything about me that counts has become new.

Everything about me now is of you, father. You have reconciled me to youself through Jesus Christ, and you have given me a ministry of reconciliation. You were in Christ, father, reconciling the world back to yourself.

I belong to you, father. You chose me. So, I do not lose hope even though my outward man is perishing, yet the inward man (the new man, the divine man) is being renewed day by day.

The worldly tribulations and afflictions of this life are brief compared to eternity and, by your grace and plan, father, they work in me an exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

For I know that you, father, who raised up the Lord Jesus, will also raise me up with Jesus and you will present me to yourself. Help me today, father, to be well pleasing to you.

Sanctified by that Truth

Deuteronomy 32; Hebrews 11; Psalms 33; John 1; Hebrews 4; 1 Peter 1; John 17; John 1

Thank you, father, in faith and humility, with a clear understanding of my desperate need, I take to heart your word. I teach your word to my children. I live your word before them.

There is no empty word from your Bible, but rather your word is life itself. By your word I live long in the lands you have given me. Your word is life and light to me.

The universe was created by your word. By your word the heavens were made. Your word became flesh and dwelt among us.

Your word is living and active. It is sharp and pierces to the division of soul and spirit. It discerns the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. We cannot hide from your word. It exposes us (and that is why so many hate the word).

Your word, father, is eternal life, and I am born again by the incorruptible seed which is your word. Your word is truth and I am sanctified by that truth. Your word is with you, father, and your word is god, father.

Cannot Be Shaken

Hebrews 12, 4, & 12

Father, your Gospel kingdom cannot be shaken, but it will shake everything else of earth and heaven. Your gospel challenges men to listen and to hear. You call and you warn.

Your Gospel kingdom shakes the old kingdom of law: the Mount Sinai that blazed with your fire and your voice; that made hearers beg for no further messages from you. Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that even Moses said, “I tremble with fear.”

The old covenant shook the mountain, but now your new and final covenant, your gospel covenant, will shake earth and heaven. It will force people to seek and follow you, or to refuse and reject you. It draws your children to you in love, and it brings out hatred and rage in the children of the evil one.

Your gospel is meant to separate and divide. You mean to remove the things that can be shaken so that all that remains are those eternal things that cannot be shaken.

I am grateful for a kingdom that cannot be shaken. I worship you, father, son, and holy spirit with reverence and awe, for you are my God and my father.

Enjoying Obedience

Hebrews 12

Hallelujah, now, by your grace, father, I live in your gospel kingdom. I have come to Mount Zion into the city of you, my living god, the heavenly Jerusalem. Now innumerable angels are camped around me and serve you perfectly, father.

Other firstborn sons are in fellowship with me. You, the perfect judge, minister your word to me and continue to perfect me. And here is Jesus.

I am with Jesus and he is with me. He intercedes for me and he mediates the new covenant to me. I see that his life and death and resurrection have spoken the final word over my life.

His sacrifice has bought my peace with you father, and purified my conscience. Now I have mercy and pardon. I am reconciled to you, father. I am a child of your pasture and a citizen of your kingdom, father.

And this is the kingdom that cannot be shaken. I have peace in my soul and abound with thankfulness and love. I have a new nature who enjoys obedience.

I Am Glad

Hebrews 12

I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are the founder and perfector of the faith that is born in me. You are the author and finisher of my life story. I keep my eyes on your endurance despite afflictions, so that, I do not grow weary or faint-hearted.

I know our father disciplines the sons he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives. He disciplines me for my good, so that, I will share in his holiness. Discipline does not seem pleasant but it yields a peaceful fruit of righteousness to me as it trains me.

So, I am encouraged by your love for me and your attention to me, father. I lift up drooping hands, and I strengthen my weak knees, and I walk along on the straight path you have shown me. It is the gospel path.

I live in and seek after your peace and holiness. I am filled with your grace, father. I am quick to forgive and free from all bitterness.

I am holy and seek to stay godly and faithful to my vows. I hold to the new birthright you have given to me in your Gospel of salvation and I am glad.
