The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords

John 1 & 6; Revelation 19

Lord Jesus, you are the word. You have been with God, the Father, from the beginning. You are God. Everything that was made was made through you, and without you nothing was made that was made.

Life is in you, and your life is the light for me. Your light shines for me in this dark world, and the dark cannot overcome it. You, the Word of God, became flesh, and you dwelt among us.

Through your scripture, and your witnesses, and the communion of your Holy Spirit, I behold your glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. You are living bread and cleansing blood. You, Lord Jesus, are God’s Messiah and my Lord.

You are faithful and true. In righteousness you judge and make war. At the appointed time, you will appear. Out of your mouth goes a sharp sword, and with it, you will strike the nations. You. yourself, will rule them with a rod of iron. You, yourself, will tread the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God for you are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Uttermost

Hebrews 6 & 7

Father, you are determined to show me more abundantly the immutability of your promises and provision for me. You have chosen me, and you will not let me go. You are perfectly faithful and have confirmed, with an oath, your promise to me and to everyone who is an heir to your promise.

Since it is impossible for you, Heavenly Father, to lie, I can rest in strong consolation in the hope that you have set before me. This hope is described in your promises and is like an anchor to my soul. It is sure and steadfast. It connects me directly to your holy presence.

Jesus has entered into your holy Majesty before me, on my behalf, as the perfect high priest. Jesus is high priest forever. He delivers a better hope, whereby I can draw near to you, Father.

Father, you have sworn you will not relent in saving my soul. Jesus is the surety of a better covenant. He is able to save me to the uttermost. He always lives to make intercession on my behalf with you, great God and Father.

Called

1 Peter 5,4,5; 1 Corinthians 6; John 10

Today, Father, I humble myself under your mighty hand. I belong to you, and you are in charge of every detail of my life. I cast all my cares upon you, for I know your promises, and I know you care for me.

I am serious and watchful about my prayers and my faith. I have love for the brethren. I am hospitable, and I do not grumble.

From the gifts you give me, Lord, I try to minister your grace and love and truth with gentleness and respect. When I speak, Lord, I desire to speak your very word.

I yield myself as an instrument in your hands, hopeful that you will use the abilities that you give me to minister to others that in all things you, Father, will be glorified through Jesus, your Christ.

I am sober and vigilant for I know that there is an enemy who walks about, seeking whom he may devour. I resist him, steadfast in my faith.

I know that you, the God of all grace, who called me to your eternal glory by Christ Jesus, have perfected, established, strengthened, and settled me. I belong to you, and nothing and no one can snatch me out of your hand, Father.

Guaranteed

2 Timothy 2; 1 Peter 3; 2 Corinthians 5; Ephesians 1

Thank you, Father, that you granted me sight, and I saw my sin, and I came to my senses, and you granted me repentance. I escaped from the snares of the devil that had taken me captive.

I realized I had spent enough of my past lifetime following the lust of my flesh as if I were an unbeliever, but now, by your grace and illumination, Father, I live according to your decree. I live in your spirit and feed on your word.

I sanctify Christ as Lord in my heart, and I study and ruminate on all the reasons for the divine hope that is in me. My hope is built on Christ and his grace and obedience.

Now I live in Christ, and Christ lives in me, by your holy spirit, Father. In Christ, I am a new creation. The old has passed away, and behold, everything about the “real me” is new and eternal.

Now, in Christ, I have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sin. According to the riches of your grace, Lord Jesus, I know the mystery of your will. I am sealed by your spirit, and my eternal future with you, Father, in love, is guaranteed.

Glory to You Both

Revelation 4 & 5

You are worthy, oh Lord and God. You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power; for you created all things, and by your will, all things exist and were created.

Lord Jesus, you are worthy to take the scroll and to open the future. You were slain, and you have redeemed me to God, our father, by your blood.

You have saved your seed out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have made me, and all who are yours, a kingdom of priests to God, the Father, and we shall reign on earth.

Worthy are you, Lord Jesus, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory and blessing.

Blessing and honor and glory and power be into you, Father, and to you, Lord Jesus, my Savior and the Father’s Messiah. Glory to you both forever and ever.

Gift to Me

Matthew 11; Romans 8; 2 Corinthians 5; Hebrews 10; Matthew 11; Ephesians 2

Today, Lord Jesus, I come unto you. You give me rest. I know that you have fulfilled the law and that you have become the perfect, acceptable payment for my sin. I could never accomplish those things, but through you, divine righteousness is credited to me.

I have been sanctified through the offering of your body, Lord Jesus, once for all. By that one offering, you perfected me forever.

I take up my cross, and I learn from you, Lord. You are gentle and lowly in heart. In you, Lord, in your person and in your word, I find rest for my soul. You, Lord, have done all that had to be done. It is finished.

For me, by your grace and your love, I find my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I do not deserve it, but now I know it is your gift to me.

New Life

Isaiah 61

Lord Jesus, the Spirit of God, our father, was upon you. The Father anointed you to preach good tidings to the poor in spirit. Our father sent you to heal the brokenhearted and to reconcile us to Almighty God, our father.

You, Lord Jesus, proclaimed liberty to us who were captive to sin and bound in the prison of fleshy lusts. You, Lord, proclaimed God’s salvation and God’s faithfulness to come at a time appointed, and to raise his people, and to wreak vengeance on those who are not his.

Lord Jesus, in your life and in your word, I am comforted; I find consolation. Because of sin, my life had become ashes. I mourned at the way I had lived. I was depressed by my nastiness.

You, Lord, called me and loved me. You granted me repentance from sin and showed me your atoning sacrifice given to me out of your love. My life through you took on beauty and praise. I realized that, by your grace, I was justified and made righteous. I had new life.

All Things

Colossians 1

Father, you have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the son of your love, my Lord Jesus, in whom I have redemption, through his perfect propitiation, the forgiveness of my sins.

Jesus is the visual and tactile image of you, Father. He is preeminent over all creation.

All things were and are created by him, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, principalities or powers. All things, big and little, important or seemingly unimportant, were created through him and for him.

Jesus Christ is before all things, and in him, all things consist. He is the sustainer, and he is the head of the body of Christ, that is he is the head of the true church.

You, Lord Jesus, are the very beginning. You are the first born from the dead. In all things, and in every way, you are preeminent. In you all the fullness of God dwells.

Preserved in Jesus Christ

Jude; Revelation 1

Thank you, Father, that through your scripture and your indwelling spirit, you keep me from stumbling, and you present me faultless in your presence, with great joy.

You, Father, have saved me. You, Lord Jesus, are my savior. You are all wise. To you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, be glory, and majesty, and dominion, and power both now and forever.

You, Father, proclaim me sanctified, and I am preserved in Jesus Christ. Your mercy, and peace, and love are multiplied to me.

I keep myself in your love, Father, and rest in the sureness of the mercy of my Lord Jesus for new life; new life now in this flesh, and new life eternally with you, Father.

Lord Jesus, you loved me, and you freed me from my sins with your own blood. You have put me in your kingdom, and you have become my perfect high priest. To you be glory and dominion forever and ever.

You, Lord Jesus, are the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and you are the ruler over all the kings and kingdoms of the earth.

Your Fullness, Father

Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 6; Galatians 3; Romans 12; Ephesians 3

Good morning, Lord. Today I come to you and bow before you. I offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you. That is my reasonable spiritual service, for I belong to you.

I am no longer my own. I have been bought with a price. I have been redeemed by you, Father, through the Lord Jesus. I am back among the living, by your grace, and I am glad of it.

I am no longer conformed to the image of the world, instead I’m transformed as you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, renew my mind. According to the riches of your glory, Father, you have strengthened me with might, through your spirit, in my inner man.

Christ dwells in my heart through faith, and I am rooted and grounded in love. By your presence and communion, I begin to comprehend how wide and long and deep and high is your love for me. I know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, and I am filled with all your fullness, Father.
