Brother

Hebrews 2, 10, & 2

Lord Jesus, in your love and courage, you took on flesh just like mine. You shared in living in the flesh that through your death (and resurrection) you would destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and thereby you released me from the bondage of fearing death.

You, Lord Jesus, are a merciful and faithful high priest in all the things pertaining to God, my father. You have made propitiation for my sins. You offered one sacrifice for sins forever, and then sat down at the right hand of God, our Father, to wait till your enemies are made your footstool.

By your one offering, you have perfected forever me and all those whom you have predestined to be sanctified. You, who sanctifies and I who am being sanctified are one. And you call me brother.

Not Fear

Phillipians 1 & 2; Hebrews 13

I thank you, Father, for saving me and filling me with your Holy Spirit. I’m confident that you, father, who have begun a good work in me will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

I pray today that I will be filled with the fruit of righteousness by Jesus, unto the glory and praise of you, my father. For it is you, father, who works in me both to will and to do your good pleasure.

Father, you are the God of Peace. You brought again from the dead my Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd. By your grace and atonement you make me perfect in every good work to do your will, working in me that which is well pleasing in your sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.

So I thank you, Lord, that I am content. I know that you will never leave me nor forsake me. So I can say boldly, “the Lord is my helper. I do not fear!”

Greater Than All

Romans 8; John 10

Father, you knew me before the foundation of this world and you predestined me to be conformed to the image of your son, my Lord Jesus, so that I would become one of his many brothers.

Even more than that, you not only predestined me, but you called me, you justified me, and you glorified me through Christ Jesus. You are for me, father, so no one can succeed against me.

My Lord and Savior, Jesus, your Christ, died for my atonement and rose from the dead and is now forever at your right hand where he makes intercession for me.

I hear your voice, Lord Jesus. You know me and I follow you. You give me eternal life, and I shall never perish, neither shall anything pluck me out of your hand.

God, our father, has given me to you and he is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck me out of my father’s hand. You, Lord Jesus, and the father are one.

You Show Me

Psalms 16

I have come to you, and I stayed with you, for you, oh God, are my refuge. You keep me safe, Heavenly Father. You, Lord Jesus, are my master. All that I have is from you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Seeing your presence and redemption in the people around me who are your children encourages me and causes me to rejoice. I find pleasure and peace in your grace and in your power to transform those that are yours.

Lord, you alone are my inheritance and my cup of blessing. You guard me. You have given me a pleasant land and a divine inheritance.

Lord, you guide me. Even in the night you lead my heart. You are always with me, Holy Spirit. I am not shaken because you are with me forever.

My heart is filled with joy and my mouth sings your praise. My body rests in safety. You did not leave Lord Jesus among the dead, and you did not leave my soul among the dead.

You show me the way of life. In your presence is fullness of joy, and at thy right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Your Love is in Me

John 16 & 17

Lord Jesus, I know that you came forth from the father into this world, and then that you left this world to return to our father.

You left your word and your spirit here with us to be our peace. In this world there is tribulation, but I am a good cheer because in you, Lord Jesus, I have overcome the world

The father gave you power over the flesh to give eternal life to all whom our father had chosen. You showed me the father and I have come to know God, my father, and to know you, Jesus, as my Lord.

Your word is truth and I am sanctified through your truth. I am not of this world, just as you, Jesus, were not of this world. I am in the world for a while, but God, my father, keeps me and gives me his holy spirit that I am one with him and one with you, Lord Jesus.

I am one with you as you and the father are one. Me in you and you in me. The same love of the father for you, Lord Jesus, is in me and your love is in me.

Be Glorified

1 Peter 4

Lord Jesus, since you suffered in the flesh, I arm myself with the same attitude, because I see that as I suffer in the flesh I am finished with sin.

By your grace, father, and your presence within me, Holy Spirit, I spend the rest of my time on this earth concerned about your will for me, father, and not about my human desires.

Oh, in times past, I lived like an unbeliever. I walked in lust and lasciviousness, but then your gospel was preached to me, father, and I came alive to your call and life. I was born again. I was converted. I was made alive spiritually through Christ Jesus.

Now as I receive the gift of your spirit, father, I pray I would serve others accurately and wisely as a good steward of the varied grace of God.

I pray I would speak the very words of God; that I would serve in the strength you supply, Lord, so that in everything, God, our father, would be glorified through you, Lord Jesus.

My Light

Psalms 27

You, o Lord, are my light and my salvation. I do not fear. You, Heavenly Father, are the stronghold of my life therefore, I fear not.

Even if enemies encamp against me and war rises up against me my heart will not fear and I will be confident in you, Lord God.

All I ask; all I seek after is to dwell in your house, Lord, all the days of my life. I desire that in the midst of worldly foolishness my gaze would remain upon your beauty, father, and I would follow you and inquire of you for each day’s bread.

In the days of trouble you hide me in your shelter, father. You conceal me under the cover of your tent and you lift me high up on Jesus, the rock of your salvation.

You lift up my head, father, and I offer sacrifices with shouts of joy. I sing and make melody to you, Lord. I seek your face, Lord, and you adopt me. You teach me your ways, father, and you lead me on a level path.

I Listen

John 15

You are the true vine, Lord Jesus, and God, our Father, is the husbandman. I am clean through the word you have given to me, Lord. I abide in you and you abide in me. I am a branch and you, Lord Jesus, are the vine. A branch cannot bear fruit of itself; it must abide in the vine.

I abide in you and you abide in me, and you bring forth much fruit through me. I abide in you and your words abide in me. I ask for what I know is right and all that is done for me. In this, God, our Father, is glorified, and I bear your fruit, Lord Jesus, and I remain your disciple.

You and the father love me and I dwell in that love. I keep my eyes on your word as if it were a lighthouse and I abide in your love. You speak to me, Lord Jesus, by your word so that your joy will remain in me and so that my joy would be full. And I listen!

Free Indeed

Ephesians 1; John 6,7&8

Blessed be your name, father. You are the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ. You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

You chose me before the foundation of the world to be yours in Christ Jesus, that I should be holy and blameless before you in love. Then at the appointed time, you called me to you that I would believe and receive Christ as my Savior and Lord.

You gave me a thirst for your gospel. I believed you and your scripture and into me, and then out of me, flow rivers of living water. Because I follow you, Lord Jesus, I have the light of life.

You called me, father, and you are with me. You do not leave me alone. I continue in your word; I know the truth and the truth makes me free. The Son makes me free and therefore, I am free indeed.

Strong & Courageous

Daniel 6,7&9

Oh, God, my father, you are the living God enduring forever. Your kingdom shall never be destroyed, and your dominion shall be to the end. You deliver and you rescue; you work signs and wonders in heaven and on earth. You have saved me from the jaws of the evil one.

Lord Jesus, I see you. You are the Son of Man. You come before the Ancient of Days and are presented to Him. He has given dominion and glory and a kingdom to you. All peoples, nations, and languages will serve you. Your dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall never pass away. Your kingdom is one that shall not be destroyed.

The saints of the Most High receive your kingdom and are a part of your kingdom forever and ever and ever. You, o Lord, are the great and awesome God. You keep your covenant and love me with a steadfast love. I do not fear because you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit love me and give me peace. By your grace I am strong and courageous.
