Grace Found

Hebrews 3&4; Matthew 11; Hebrews 4; 1 John 1

Today, father, my heart is soft for you. I realize you, Lord Jesus, are everything for me, and I understand my desperate need for you as my Lord in every matter of life that counts.

You, Lord Jesus, are the Christ of God, our father. You are the son, placed by God, the father, over all the house. I am one of your house. I am your brother, Lord Jesus, one of your own, a child of the king and a joint heir with you, my Lord.

You, Lord Jesus, are the Apostle and high priest of my confession. My faith and salvation is in your finished work, Lord Jesus. You are my sabbath rest, and I am diligent to enter that rest.

I come unto you; I take up your cross; I learn from you; and I find rest for my soul.

You, Lord, are the very word of God, our father. You are living and powerful and sharp. You divide flesh from spirit. You are light in my soul and mind. You reveal the thoughts and intentions of my heart, so that I can repent, and confess, and be cleansed.

In your atonement, I can come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The Captain

Hebrews 2

Father, I pay great attention to your great salvation. I give earnest heed to your word. I stay anchored to you, and I do not drift.

Your word came to me as spoken by angels and then spoken by your Son, my Lord Jesus. Then your word was written by the apostles and testified as true by their lives.

Throughout all time you have demonstrated and verified the truth and power of your word with both signs and wonders, with various miracles, and with the gift of your Holy Spirit.

You have done this in big ways for the world to see, and you have done signs and wonders in me personally for a divine testimony to me. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your witness and for your faithful communion.

You, father, have put all things in subjection under the feet of the Lord Jesus. You left nothing that was not put under him. I cannot see all the details now, but I can see Jesus.

He took on flesh, by your grace, father, to taste death for everyone and thereby brought many sons to glory. He is the captain of my salvation. He calls me brother. I am sanctified with Christ, and I am one with Christ.

The Work of His Hands

Hebrews 1

Father, in these days you have spoken to me by your son, the Lord Jesus Christ. You have appointed him heir of all things. He is the brightness of your glory, and the expressed image of your person.

He upholds all things by the power of his word. He has purged my sins and has set down at your right hand, Father.

You say Jesus is your only begotten son; that you are his father and he is your son; that all the angels worship him; that he empowers angels, and you say that he indwells and baptizes ministers with fire.

You call Jesus God and you give him an eternal throne. You acknowledge that Jesus is righteousness itself; that he has a scepter of righteousness; and that he hates lawlessness. You, Father, have anointed him with the oil of gladness beyond any other’s measure.

You say that Jesus laid the foundation of this earth and that the heavens are the work of his hands.

Jesus is eternal. He will remain after all the heaven and earth are changed. He is the same, and he will never fail.

Useful

2 Timothy 2

Today, Father, by your word and the presence of your Holy Spirit in me, I realize how strong I am in the grace that is in and from my savior, Christ Jesus.

I am diligent to present myself to you, Father, as a worker who is not ashamed, but instead, as one who is eager and faithful to study to rightly understand, teach, and live in your word.

I shun profane and idle babblings, and instead, I feed on your truth, Father, and I have a solid foundation for godliness. I have the comfort of knowing that you, Father, know those who are yours.

In your great house, Father, there are vessels of gold, silver, wood, and clay; some for honor and some for dishonor. You have cleansed me, Lord Jesus, so that I am a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful to you, my master, prepared for every good work.

Thank you, lord.

Heir of Eternal Life

Titus 2&3

Thank you, Father, for your grace that has shown me your salvation. You have taught me to deny ungodliness and worldly lust, so that I may live soberly and righteously in this present age.

I commune with you all day, everyday, and I enjoy your blessed hope. I look forward to the glorious appearing of my great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, your sweet son and loving messiah, Father.

Jesus gave himself for me and redeemed me from all my lawless deeds, and purified me for himself as a special brother, zealous for his good work.

In Christ, Father, you have shown me your kindness and love according to your mercy. You have saved me through the washing of regeneration and renewing by your Holy Spirit, whom you poured out on me abundantly through Jesus Christ, my savior.

I have been justified by his grace, and I have become an heir according to the hope of eternal life.

Obedience to the Truth

1 Peter 2&1

Today, Lord Jesus, I continue to entrust myself (my life, my hope, my salvation) to you who judge justly. You bore my sins in your own body on that tree to enable and empower me to die to sin and to live unto righteousness.

By your wounds I have been healed (saved from sin and reconciled to God, our father). I had been straying like a sheep, but now I have returned to you, Lord Jesus, the shepherd and bishop of my soul.

Now by your grace and indwelling spirit, I am part of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of your own possession, so that I can proclaim the excellencies of you, heavenly father. You who called me out of darkness into your marvelous light.

Now I am in this world but not of it. I am a sorjourner and exile, and able, by my new nature, to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against my soul.

My soul is purified by obedience to the truth (i.e. receiving Christ by faith). I am born again by the living and abiding word of God, the good news that was preached to me.

Will Carry Nothing Out

2 Timothy 1 & 1 Timothy 6

Thank you, Father, that with your power you have saved me and called me to a holy calling. This call is not based on my works, but it is according to your own purpose for me, and it is active by the grace given to me in Christ Jesus before time began.

Now your grace and power and purpose are revealed to me by the resurrection and appearance of my savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

In all of that you have appointed me to preach and to teach your word. And I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep what I have committed to him until the day of the Lord.

In the meantime, I hold fast to your sound word, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I belong to you, Father, and I am content. I brought nothing into this world, and I know I will carry nothing out.

I am content with your gracious and loving provision to me. I flee the love of money or worldly “security” and instead, pursue righteousness and daily peace with you, Father. I fight the good fight of faith, and I lay hold of eternal life.

Quiet and Peaceable

1 Timothy 1&2

I thank you, Lord Jesus, that you enable me; that you counted me faithful and put me into ministry. I was formally a man lost in sin, but you, Lord, were merciful to me. Your grace, Lord Jesus, was exceedingly abundant for me.

It is true that you, Lord Jesus, came into this world to save sinners, and I was certainly a sinner. However, I obtained mercy from you, Lord, so that you could show your patience as a part of your character to all those around me.

You, Lord Jesus, are King eternal. You are immortal, wise, and honest. To you be glory forever and ever.

You fill me, lord, with love for your word that, by the word and your presence in me, I may wage good warfare against spiritual forces of evil.

I pray with supplication and faith for all men, including all that are in authority, so that, we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this kind of life is what you have for me, Lord Jesus.

Patience of Christ

2 Thessalonians 2, 1, & 3

I give thanks to you, father, that from the beginning you chose me for salvation through sanctification by your spirit and by belief in your word. You called me to your gospel for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, I stand fast and hold to those truths that you have taught me. Thank you, father, that you count me worthy of your calling, and that you fulfill in me all the good pleasure of your goodness, and the work of your faith, with power.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you love me and give me everlasting consolation and good hope by your grace. You comfort my heart and establish me in every good word and work.

You, oh Lord, are faithful. You establish me, and you guard me from the evil one. I obey you, and I do the things you command.

You, father, direct my heart into the love of you, my God, and into the patience of Christ.

Always

1 Thessalonians 5&4

Hallelujah, father, you are the God of Peace, and you sanctify me completely. You preserve my whole spirit, soul, and body blameless at the coming of my Lord Jesus. You are faithful and you do all that you promise.

You did not appoint me to your wrath, but instead by your grace and mercy, you chose me to obtain salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for me, and whether I am alive here on earth or dead, I live together with Jesus.

Someday, at your appointed time, father, the Lord Jesus, himself, will descend from heaven with a shout; with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God. Those who have died in Christ will rise from the dead, and those who are alive at his coming will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord Jesus in the air.

In that way we shall all meet together and from then on we shall always be with the lord.
