Whether I Live or Die

Roman14,6,8,&12; John 3&14; 2 Timothy 1

You, Lord Jesus, died and rose and live again. Thus you are the Lord of both the dead and the living. Whether I live or die, I belong to you, Lord.

My knee bows to you, and my mouth confesses that you are the Christ. You are God. You took on flesh and lived a righteous life. You suffered and died and paid the penalty for my sins. You imputed your perfection to me and thereby justified me and reconciled me to God, our father

You filled me with a measure of faith, so I believe. You grant me repentance to turn from sin and to return to you, the Shepherd and Bishop of my soul.

You, Holy Spirit, moved over me and in me. Now I am born from above, born this second time by the spirit. A new man, a divine man, now lives in me.

Today I reckon myself dead to sin and to my old man and alive to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. My old man is crucified with you, Lord Jesus. My flesh no longer controls me, but now, day by day, thought by thought, your spirit leads me, and your living word fills my mind.

I am transformed. I am hidden with you now, Lord Jesus. The world has nothing in me. My joy is full. I live in your power and love, filled with your spirit, Lord.

Led and Fed

Romans 13&12

Time is moving along in your kingdom, Father. I am awake. The night is far spent, and the day is at hand. Hallelujah, I have cast off the works of darkness, and I have put on the armor of light.

I walk in your spirit, Lord Jesus, led by your spirit and fed by your word. I walk in holiness and contentedness. I walk in peace and rest. I commune with you, Lord Jesus, and I make no provision for the lust of the flesh.

As much as possible, I live peaceably with all men. I love my neighbor as I want to be loved. I abore evil, and I cling to what is good. I pay attention to others.

I am not wise in my own opinion. I often make mistakes, but I try to learn from them, Father. I seek after you and your spirit of wisdom and temperance. I seek to serve you, Lord.

I rejoice in hope. I am patient in tribulation. I am ceaseless in prayer. I am generous to the brethren, and I am given to hospitality. I love being your son and living in your family!

Gave To Me

Isaiah 40&46; Romans 11; Isaiah 46; Romans 8&5

I am joined together with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I feed on your word. I drink your righteousness. I commune with you day and night. You renew my strength. I mount up on wings like an eagle. I run and I am not weary. I walk with you, Lord, and I do not faint.

I hear you, Lord. You knew me in the womb. You have upheld me since my birth. Now, in my old age, you are always with me. Even with my gray hair, you carry me. You made me. You bear me. You deliver me. I keep my eyes on you, Lord, and you save me, for you are Almighty God, and there is no other.

From you, through you, and to you are all things. You bring righteousness near and make it apply to me. You put salvation‘s way before me. You declare the end from the beginning. Your council stands, and you do what pleases you. You speak it, and you bring it to pass. You purpose it, and you do it.

For your purpose, you foreknew me. You predestined me to be conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus. You predestined me, and you called me. You justified me, and you glorified me. You poured out your love, in my heart, through your Holy Spirit, who you gave to me!

No One

Isaiah41&43

I belong to you, Father. You have chosen me. You are always with me, so I do not fear. I am not dismayed because you are Almighty God, and you lead me. You strengthen me, and you help me. You uphold me with your righteous right hand.

I seek you, Lord, for I am poor and needy, and you hear me and meet my needs like pools of water in a wilderness. You commune with me, Holy Spirit, and I see and know that your hand, oh Lord, is on me and that you, the Holy One, guide and guard my life, moment by moment.

I am yours, Lord. You chose me in your sovereignty, and by your grace, you gave me faith to believe and to understand that you are God, the only God. There is no God before you, nor shall there be after you.

You are my savior, and there is no other savior. You proclaim and declare that there are no foreign gods. You are God. You are the Great I Am. No one can deliver out of your hand. You work your will, Father, and no one can reverse that!

You Carry Me

Isaiah 35&40

Thank you, Father, you have shown me the way. It is a high way, a road. It is a highway to holiness. It is faith in Jesus as your Messiah, and it is discipline to study his words and to seek his indwelling spirit.

The unsaved do not follow this way, but I walk on it. Even when I make poor choices, I repent, and I am still on the highway. No lions or ravenous beasts can reach me here.

I am redeemed and ransomed. I walk this highway singing with everlasting joy and gladness. Sorrow and sighing have fled away from this highway.

You are the way, Lord Jesus. You have made straight a highway for me to God. You have made the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth. You have revealed the glory of God to all who are chosen, and on your appointed day, all flesh will see your glory.

I lift up my voice and sing. I am not afraid. You, Lord Jesus, have come with a strong hand. You have become my Lord, and you rule over me. I am rewarded with your salvation, with peace and hope and freedom. You feed me like a shepherd. You gather me into your arms, and you carry me!

Highway of Holiness

2 Corinthians 5; Isaiah 32&36

Good morning, Lord Jesus. God, our father, in great mercy, made you who knew no sin to be sin for me, that I could become righteous before God in you. I receive your gift of righteousness with joy and humility. I don’t deserve it, but you give it as a free gift of grace, and I take it and hold onto it in faith and thanksgiving.

Living in the truth of your righteousness, Lord Jesus, effects peace and quietness in my life. I have all your assurances of everlasting life. I dwell in peaceful habitation and in secure and quiet rest.

Your Holy Spirit teaches me and leads me. He strengthens my weak hands and makes firm my feeble knees. I am strong in you, Lord, and I do not fear. You have come to me, and you are for me, so I have nothing to fear. You have saved me; saved me from myself, from sin, and from the world system.

You have opened my eyes and my ears so that I can follow you and commune with you. I dance, and I sing to you, Father God. You have made my life a lush paradise, and you have put me firmly on your highway of holiness.

Spirit and Life

Romans 10; John 4&7&6

My God, thank you for the preachers you have sent my way. They preached the gospel of peace to me, and you gave me the gift of faith. So as I heard the word, I was able to believe the word

Then, with my heart, I believed that Jesus is your Christ and my savior. I began to confess the very words of Jesus. I believed unto salvation.

Now I know that you, Lord Jesus, are near me. Your Holy Spirit fills me and leads me in your way. I believe in my heart, and I feed on your word.

Your word fills my heart and mind and becomes a fountain of living water in me springing up into everlasting life. I love your Lordship, and I seek hard after you, and I drink of your word and your indwelling presence, and out of my heart, flow rivers of living water.

I abide in you, Lord Jesus, and you abide in me. As our living father sent you, and you live because of our father, I live because of you. This is your word, Lord, and it is spirit, and it is life.

The Rock

Romans 9&10

Thank you, Father, that by your grace and mercy, I have attained your righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ your cornerstone. To some Jesus is a stumbling stone, but to me, by your gift of sight and faith, Jesus is the rock of my salvation. I believe on him, and I shall not be put to shame.

You chose to give me understanding and knowledge of your way to salvation, Father. Now I know to submit to your way to righteousness. Now I know that Christ is the end of the law of righteousness to everyone who believes.

I know that Jesus is the Christ and the Lord of my life. I believe that you, Father, raised him from the dead. I have called on the name of Jesus to be my Lord, and by grace, through faith, I am saved.

Always and All Ways

Romans 8; Ephesians 1; Romans 8

Thank you, Father, for your faithfulness, your power, and your provision into my life. By your grace, in accord with your word, the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has overcome, for me, the law of sin and death.

Through Christ Jesus, you have done for me what the law could not do, because it was weakened through my old sin nature.

You, Father, sent your own son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, to account for sin, and he, my Lord and Savior, fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law. His righteousness is imputed to me, by your grace, through faith in Jesus as your Messiah.

I also was included in Christ when I heard your word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and I believed, and I was marked with a seal, your promised Holy Spirit. He is a deposit dwelling in me, as a guarantee of my inheritance, until my redemption as your eternal possession, to the praise of your glory, Father.

Now, your Holy Spirit, the same spirit who raised Christ from the dead, dwells in me. He gives life to my mortal body. He leads me in path of righteousness. He delivers my soul. He witnesses your love and rest to me, Father, and he prays with me and through me. Together, we commune with you, Father, always and all ways.

That Came to Me

Romans 8; 2 Timothy 2; Romans 5

Despite all my sin and selfishness, my foolishness and bad choices, by your grace, Father, I am more than a conqueror.

I deserved punishment and condemnation, but in your mercy, you provided a way back to righteousness. You redeemed me from destruction and made me a vessel of honor in your house. By your grace and power, you made something useful for your kingdom out of my life.

Lord Jesus, you loved me and did what had to be done to buy me back from brutish bondage, and to give me a new heart. You, Lord, died as propitiation for my terrible first life, and you were raised from the dead to see me born again to a second life.

Now I belong to you. I know I don’t deserve such mercy and hope, but you give it as a gift, and I receive it with joy and humility.

For some reason you chose me and bought me and called me. Now your Holy Spirit fills me and glorifies Christ Jesus within me.

So I am more than a conqueror in life, through Christ Jesus, and nothing from my past or future can separate me from your love, Father, which came to me through Christ Jesus, and is now poured into my heart every day, through your Holy Spirit.
