The Time Appointed

Matthew 25

Lord Jesus, at the time appointed by our father, you will come in your glory with all the holy angels, and you will sit on a glorious throne. Then you will separate the multitudes like a shepherd separates sheep from goats.

Lord, I seek to be among the sheep. You have chosen me and converted me. You have given me a new heart to minister to those who are hungry and thirsty and to be hospitable to strangers. I have a love from you and seek to let that Divine love spring through me to those who are naked and to those who are in prison.

You, Holy Spirit, testify to me the sweetness of these “good works”. I believe you “made” me for such works. They are part of the Kingdom that you have prepared, from the very foundation of the world, for me and for all of those who are yours.

It is actually your person who does the works through me, and I do them out of my salvation not to earn my salvation.

By Your Grace

Titus 2; Ephesians 2

Your grace on my life has become obvious to me, Father. By your grace, I have salvation of my soul. In grace, you teach me, with your spirit and your word, to live soberly, righteously, and Godly in this present age.

Now, I deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and instead, I focus on the blessed hope and glorious appearing of Jesus Christ, my great God and savior.

By your grace and plan, Father, he gave himself for me and redeemed me from every lawless deed, and he purified me for himself. Now, by your grace and decree, I am your special kin. I belong to you, Father, and I am zealous to be of use to you.

By your grace, and your power and person within me, I am your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which you, Father, prepared beforehand that I walk in.

Never Cast Out

Hebrews 2; John 6

Father, I know from your scripture that you have put the world to come, that is the future, in subjection to Jesus, as Lord, Savior, and Messiah.

You have and will crown him with glory and honor. You have set him over the works of your hand. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.

There is, therefore, now and forever more, nothing that is not put under him. For now we do not see that. We see Jesus, who was made, for a moment, a little lower than the angels, to suffer death as the propitiation for my sins.

He is honored by you, Father, and by your grace, he tasted death for everyone who is yours. In so doing, he brought many children into glory.

He is the captain of our salvation. He was made perfect through all that he suffered, and now he sanctifies all who you, Father, have given him. He will not lose one of us whom you have given to him, and he will never cast us out.

Perfected Forever

Hebrews 7 & 8

Lord Jesus, hallelujah! You are the surety of a better covenant. You have an unchangeable priesthood because you live forever. You are able to save to the uttermost all of us who come to God, our father, through you. You always live to make intercession with the Father for each of us who are yours.

You, Lord Jesus, are the perfect high priest for me. You are holy, meek, and undefiled. You are separate from sinners and higher than the heavens.

You do not need to offer up daily sacrifices for sin, including your own sin, because you offered up yourself as a perfect sacrifice once for all.

The law appointed high priests from men who have weakness, but God, our father, with an eternal oath, appointed you, Lord Jesus, the son who has been perfected forever, as high priest forever.

Therefore, now, through you, Lord Jesus, I have a high priest who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the majesty in heaven. Jesus, my high priest, ministers in the sanctuary of the true tabernacle erected in heaven by you, Father.

Thankful

Ephesians 2; Galatians 3; John 14; Galatians 5

Thank you, Father, for the gift of faith. By your grace, I am saved by faith. Having begun in faith, I continue in faith. The just live by faith and are not perfected by the law.

You, Lord Jesus, redeemed me from the curse of the law by becoming the curse and by taking on the curse for me. You died the death that I deserved.

By your righteous life and atoning sacrifice, Lord, all the blessings of Abraham come upon me, and I receive the infilling, indwelling Holy Spirit. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit make their abode in me.

So now I walk in your spirit, Father, and I do not fulfill the lust of my flesh. I am led by your spirit, and I am not under the law. I stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has made me free, and I do not use my liberty as an opportunity for the flesh.

The works of the flesh are evident, but I belong to you, Lord Jesus, and I have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. I live in the Spirit, and I humbly walk in your spirit, Father, free and thankful.

My Lord and My God

2 Corinthians 4; Psalm 9; 2 Corinthians 3

Thank you, Father, you raised up the Lord Jesus and also raised me up with him so that I can be presented to you. You arranged and accomplished all these things for my sake by your grace, and now, I abound in thanksgiving, and I glory in you as my Savior and God.

I praise you, oh Lord, with my whole heart. I tell of your marvelous works. I am glad, and I rejoice in you. I sing praises to your name, Most High.

Thank you, Father, that you granted me repentance and conviction, and I turned to you, and the veil over my “eyes” was taken away.

Now I know you. I know your spirit, and you dwell in me and commune with me. Where your spirit is there is liberty. Now I can behold your glory.

Now I’m transformed into the image of my Lord Jesus Christ day by day. I move along from glory to glory led by your Holy Spirit, my Lord and my God.

Upward Call

Hebrews 10; Romans 10; Hebrews 10; Philippians 3

Father, you have told me in your scripture, and your Holy Spirit witnesses to my spirit that it is true, that you have a covenant with me. You put your laws in my heart, and you write them in my mind. My sins and lawless deeds you remember no more.

I have been sanctified through the offering of the body of my Lord Jesus. By his one offering, he perfected forever me and all those who are yours, Father.

Now, by that sanctification, through Christ, I can, in boldness, enter the holiest place. I can draw near to you, Father, with a true heart and full assurance of faith.

My heart and my body are cleansed and washed with pure water. I hold to my confession that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and I know that you, Father, raised him from the dead.

Now, for a little while, I live by faith. You grant me endurance, Father, and I do not draw back. Instead, I press on, that I may lay hold of Christ who has laid hold of me. I press toward the goal for the prize of your upward call, Father, in Christ Jesus.

My Life Story

Romans 12; Hebrews 12

Father, it is you, by your grace, who has given me a measure of faith. I am humbled. I have nothing within myself to boast about, instead I think soberly.

I am one of many members that make up your body here on this earth, Lord Jesus. Therefore, I’m also together, one with another, with your children. How I live and what I do affects others and affects the body of Christ.

You minister your gifts to me, through your Holy Spirit, Father, as you see fit to do. Whatever you give me, Lord, let me be yielded today to use your gift with excellence and joy.

Today, Lord, that, by your grace, I love without hypocrisy. I abore evil. I cling to what is good. I am kind and honoring of others. I am diligent and fervent in seeking spiritual truth and Godly service. I rejoice in hope. I am patient in tribulation, and I am instant in prayer.

Today, Lord, by your grace and your presence in me, I lay aside all the weight of sin, and I run with endurance the race you have set before me. I keep my eyes on you, Lord Jesus, and you write my life story.

Remain and Succeed

Matthew 16; 2 Timothy 2; Romans 8; Matthew 16

Father, by your grace and scripture, I discern the signs of the times. I am aware of false teachers and those who would deceive me with lies, worldly fears, and false doctrine.

I have studied your word, and I have communed with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You, Holy Spirit, have witnessed to my spirit the way, the truth, and the life that is in Christ Jesus.

Lord Jesus, I know you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. You have built your body, the church, upon you as the solid and sure and eternal foundation.

You raised up and saved and converted men into dedicated Apostles who built upon you as the Rock of foundation and them as smaller rocks laid up on you.

You gave them grace to set up standards of practice for worship and membership, and sacraments of your church, so that your body, the church, would remain on earth and succeed despite all the powers of hell.

Assurance

Matthew 11; Hebrews 10

I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have revealed yourself and your way to me. You have delivered everything to Jesus, and you have revealed Jesus to me as your Messiah, and through Jesus, I have come to know you as my God and my Heavenly Father.

I come unto you, Lord Jesus, because I know you are the way. I take your yoke upon me, and I learn from you. You are meek and lowly in heart, and in you and with you, I find rest for my soul. Your yoke is easy, and your burden is light.

You, Lord Jesus, offered one sacrifice for sins forever. By that one offering, you perfected me forever, and you established my ongoing and secure sanctification.

Now you, Holy Spirit, witness to me. You put your laws in my heart, and you write your word in my mind. My sins and lawless deeds you remember no more.

Therefore, I have courage and confidence to enter the holiest because of the sacrifice of Jesus, my Lord. He is the new and living way. I draw near to you, Father, with a true heart in full assurance of faith.
