It Is God Who Justifies

If God is for me, who can be against me? He who did not spare his own son but gave him up for us all; how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who should bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who then is to condemn? Jesus, the Christ, is the one who died and who is raised.

He is the one at  the right hand of God who is interceding for me. What shall separate me from the love of Christ?  Nothing!  In all these worldly things I am more than a conqueror through him who loves me.  I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus, my Lord.

Man, Come to Your Senses!

Ed’s thoughts

In the past I was a sinner led by my lusts. I disobeyed and ignored the word of my Lord, and the vows I had made. I was lost in my selfishness. But God never left me. He worked in the circumstances of my life to bring me to my senses. I clearly saw what a selfish bore I was and what a nasty mess my life had become. I took responsibility with God for my sin. I confessed, repented, and began to return to God through his word and his people.

I had acted like a bum, but God moved in my heart. I received his grace and mercy, and saw my complete need for him. I did not deserve forgiveness but God the father ordained the way, the Lord Jesus provided the way, and the Holy Spirit applied the way. I became broken, and wisely returned to the shepherd and Bishop of my soul. Jesus is my Lord and I follow him.  What can I say now except, “If God is for me who can be against me? “

Amazed

I have enjoyed that victory and I have felt that amazement of being called and chosen to be one with God. Thank you, Lord, for your grace to me. I bow before you. You are great and glorious and I get to dwell in that glory.

Beyond and surrounding the glory is your love. I am buoyed up by your love for me;  the free gift of your love even for me a sinner who tried to walk away but found you patient, persistent, and almighty in your claim to my life. Thank you for your faithfulness.  I belong to you. I have been bought with a price and I am no longer my own. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. By god’s grace and Jesus’s sacrifice I am set free from condemnation.  There is therefore now no condemnation for me because I am in Jesus, the Christ.

The Work of God

The work of God is to believe in him whom he sent; to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.  I am diligent at this; following my shepherd and seeking to know him so that I am found in him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

My Lord has drawn me to him and has given me faith that by his divine power I have all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called me to glory and virtue.  He has given me a divine promises, exceeding great and precious promises whereby I am a partaker of the divine nature and have escaped the corruption that is in this world through lust.  So I give diligence to his word, and to his spirit who dwells in me, and my calling and election become sure and obvious.

My Captain

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you are the messiah and you are the captain of my salvation. I am yours and you are not ashamed to call me brethern.

You, Lord Jesus, put your trust in God the father, and as your brother, I put my trust in you Jesus as Messiah, and in God, the father, as sovereign.  Since I am alive in this flesh and blood, you, my Lord, took on the same flesh, that through death you would destroy him that had the power of death that is the devil.  In that divine way you delivered me from bondage to the fear of death.

You, Lord Jesus, were made like me that you would be a merciful and faithful high priest in the things pertaining to God; perfectly able to make reconciliation for my sins.  You, Lord Jesus, are the son over your own house, whose house I am. I hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of that hope firm to the end.

Thy Throne, Oh God, Is Forever

God’s word declares and clearly sets forth Jesus as the Messiah, the Christ, the anointed one of God, sent to save his people from their sins and to reconcile his children to their heavenly father.  To Jesus our father says, “Thy throne, oh God, is forever.”

I give earnest heed to the word of my God, lest at any time I should let the things of God slip. I pay constant attention to God’s great salvation for me and for his people. These things are spoken of by the Lord Jesus and confirmed by his disciples, with God, the father, bearing witness to them with signs and miracles and the gift of the Holy  Spirit according to his will.

I see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels regarding suffering death, crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God, he should taste death for every man. In that, he would bring many sons into glory and is the captain of our salvation, made perfect through the things that he suffered.

All Spiritual Wisdom

Lord, please fill me today with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that today I will walk in a manner worthy of my Lord, fully pleasing to you, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, my father, and Jesus, the Messiah.  Strengthen me with all power, according to your glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy.

I thank you, my father, that you have qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. Thank you, father, that you have delivered me from the domain of darkness and transferred me to the kingdom of your beloved son in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sin.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit that I would be led by your spirit; that the Christ would dwell in me today.

The Work Of God

John 6

I do not work for the food that perishes; I do the work of God. I work to believe that the Lord Jesus is the Messiah; the one sent from God the father to deliver his people. He does not give me a sign because he has given me the real bread from heaven, that is, himself in the flesh accomplishing everything that had to be done to begin and finish my salvation, my deliverance, my reconciliation to God.

By god’s grace, in Christ, I am justified, sanctified, and glorify God. God, my father, has made Christ to be wisdom, righteousness, redemption and sanctification for me.  He has given me the true bread from heaven. This bread came down and gave life to me. Jesus is the bread. I come to him and consume his word, and see that he is the Messiah, and I do not hunger. I believe in him and I do not thirst.

Christ Is All and In All

I believe in you, Lord Jesus. I follow you as Lord and Shepherd. I rejoice in you as redeemer and kinsman redeemer, my elder brother.

I give thanks to the father for placing me in Christ who qualifies me to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.  In Christ I am delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred to the kingdom of my Lord Jesus. In Jesus I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

My Lord Jesus is the Messiah, the one sent by God to save his people, to save me. Jesus, the Christ, is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn, preeminent, of all creation.  By him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible or invisible, all things were created through him and for him. He was before all things and in him all things hold together.
