Abounding

Romans, 15&16; Colossians 1&2

Father, you are the God of Hope, and through faith in Christ Jesus, you see that I am filled with all joy and peace and that I abound in hope by the power and presence of your Holy Spirit, who dwells and communes with me.

You, Father, have established me in your kingdom, according to your gospel and through the preaching of Jesus Christ. You have given me revelation and understanding of your mysterious means of conversion kept hidden since the world began, but now revealed to all who are enabled to see and hear.

The answer to the mystery of your means of sanctification, salvation, and eternal glorification is your placing of Christ into each believer by your Holy Spirit. The literal Glory of Almighty God dwells in me now and forever.

Thus, you were able to present me to yourself perfect in Christ Jesus, and I am able to walk now, day by day, rooted and built up in Christ and established in faith and abounding in thanksgiving.

Romans, 14; 2 Timothy 2; Romans, 14

I do not want to hinder your work, Father, for the sake of details and religious opinion and doubtful things. For your kingdom is not about eating or drinking or certain feast days or spiritual “giftings”. Your kingdom is about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Everyone who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to you, Father, and approved by a man

Let each believer study your word to show themselves approved, workmen who need not be ashamed. Men and women who can rightly divide the word of truth. People who can recognize false teachers, and shun vain babbling.

For each of us, Lord, will give an account of ourselves to God, our father. None of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For whether we live or die, we are the Lords. Therefore, let us pursue the things that make for peace and the things by which we may identify one another.

Holy and Acceptable

Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 1; Romans 12

Father, in view of your mercies, I receive, with gladness, your righteousness, redemption, sanctification, and wisdom. These are mine in Christ Jesus.

In response, I offer my body to you as a living sacrifice. By your grace and cleansing atonement, my life is now a holy and acceptable sacrifice, and my life is a reasonable sacrifice in view of the promise of eternity in your glory and pleasure.

Your word and your Holy Spirit renew my mind and change how I think and what I think, and I am transformed into the person you created me to be. No longer am I led by my flesh, caught up in the doctrine of the world. Now, I am a new man who lives in the person of the Lord Jesus.

I think soberly, and I am humble in view of my weaknesses. Thank you, Father, for your sovereign plan to redeem me or I would be lost. You have dealt generously with me and placed me as a member in your body, the church.

You are working your gifts in me that I can be of use to you. Now I live in your spirit. I rejoice in hope. I am patient in tribulation, and I am fervent and ceaseless in prayer.

Without Fail

Romans 10&3; 1 Peter 2; Romans 11

Father, your gifts and calling are irrevocable. Your plans and provision will happen without fail. By your standard, all have sinned and fallen short of your glory. All have gone astray, and are without hope. I, like all mankind, was disobedient and rebellious to you, Father

Yet now, I have obtained mercy, and everyone whom you have for known and called to be yours will receive that same mercy and grace for salvation according to your will and timing.

Your wisdom and knowledge are rich and deep, and your judgment and ways are unsearchable and beyond my understanding nevertheless, your mercy and love are trustworthy and perfectly faithful. For of you and through you and to you are all things. To you be glory forever.

Rich to Me

Romans 10&12; 2 Corinthians 5; Romans 10

Thank you, Father, that you sent preachers into my life; that I heard your word and that faith came alive in me and took root. I heard of Jesus as Savior and Lord, and by your grace, I believed.

Now, through your word and your indwelling presence, I begin to truly know you, Father. I know your provision of salvation by righteousness through faith, faith in Christ Jesus as Messiah.

I know that Christ is the end of the law of righteousness for me because I believe and receive Christ Jesus as my way of salvation.

Your righteousness that comes by faith says I don’t have to go looking for my deliverer, instead my deliverer dwells in me through your Holy Spirit. My words are your words, Lord Jesus, and my heart is tuned to your heart.

You are transforming me by renewing my mind. I am no longer conformed to my old fleshy worldly ways of doing things. Now I am in Christ, and Christ is in me. Old things have passed away. Behold, now I live in my new nature, and you, Lord, are rich to me.

Neither Can Anything or Anyone

Romans 8; Colossians 1; Romans 8; John 10

Father, in accordance with your purposes, you foreknew me, and you also predestined me to be conformed to the image of your son and my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. He is the first born among many brethren.

You predestined me to be yours, and in your sovereignty, all things work together in my life to see your will accomplished. You call me. You justify me. You are glorifying me.

You pour out your Holy Spirit on me so that I know real love, and I’m able to love you. Your spirit leads me so I am able to begin to be used in your purposes. Now, by your spirit, Christ dwells in me. He is glorious. His presence in me is glory. Where he is, is always glorious.

Now, since you have done all this with me, and for me, it is obvious that you, Father, are for me. Since you, Almighty, Sovereign God, are for me, then nothing can prevail against me.

Lord Jesus, you are at the right hand of the Father, and you make intercession for me. Nothing can separate me from your love, Lord Jesus, nor from the love of our father.

I hear your voice. You know me. You give me eternal life, and I never perish, neither can anything or anyone snatch me out of your hand.

Strength and Portion Forever

Psalm 73; Luke 15; Psalm 73

I draw near to you, Father, for that is a good thing for me. I put my trust in you for you are God of heaven above and earth below, and you are the only God. I declare your word and your salvation.

There was a time in my life when I was foolish and ignorant. I was like a dumb beast before you. I wasted my substance in profligate living, but in your mercy, by grace through faith, you brought me to my senses.

I saw how lost I was, and I repented and returned to you, Father. With joy and with forgiveness, you received me back, and now I am your child forevermore. I was lost, but now I am found.

Now I am continually with you, and your Holy Spirit fills me and fellowships with me. You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your council, and afterward, you receive me to glory.

You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are who I have and all I need. With you, there is nothing missing in heaven or on earth. You orchestrate my desires, and you give me those desires.

My flesh and my heart fail, but you, Father, are the strength of my heart and my portion forever!

Prepared

Psalm 144

You, oh Lord, are our rock. You prepare us to defend ourselves. We are guarded and guided by you. You are loving kindness, and you are our fortress. You are our high tower and our deliver. You are our shield and the one in whom we take refuge.

You stretch out your hand, Father, and you rescue us and deliver us. You guard us against confusion and clamor. You cover us against lying words and falsehoods.

We sing new songs of praise to you. You give us salvation. You rescue each of our generations from evil deception. By your grace and living word, our young men will grow up well and will mature early in their faith, and our young women will get a vision for being a polished cornerstone in your temple, sculptured for you, Father.

Our barns will be full. We will always have bountiful provision. Our disciples will bring other disciples and more and more, and on and on. Our vehicles will run and carry everything we need.

There will be no theft or malfeasance. There will be no complaining. All our people will be happy. We will know that you, Father, are our God, and our joy will be full.

Came Fourth Again

John 12; Romans 6

Lord Jesus, your word is everlasting life. You did not come to judge the world, but you came to save the world. But those who reject you and who do not receive your word will be judged by your word.

You are lifted up, Lord Jesus, and all who are yours are drawn to you. Hallelujah! By the Father’s grace, I have been drawn to you. Now I believe, and I receive you, Lord Jesus, as Lord and Savior. I know you are the Messiah sent to be eternal life for me.

Like a grain of wheat, you died and were buried. Then you came forth again and produced much life.

Now, in a similar way, I am baptized into you, Christ Jesus, baptized into your death. I am buried with you through baptism into death that just as you, Lord, were raised from the dead by the glory of our father, even so I now also walk in the newness of life.

In this new life, my old man is done away with, and I am no longer slave to sin, instead I am alive forever to God, my father, through you, Lord Jesus, fit and ready for the kingdom of God.

John 11, 5, 6, 10, & 15

I believe you, Lord Jesus, and I see your glory. You are the resurrection and the life. I believe in you, and I know that, even when I appear to die, I will live. I live and believe in you, and so, I shall never die.

I know you are the Christ, the Son of God, who has come into the world. I hear your words, and I believe you were sent by our father to give me eternal life. You are the bread sent from heaven, the bread that endure to eternal life.

You, Lord Jesus, are the Good Shepherd. You lay down your life for me. You came so that I would have life, and so that I would have life abundantly.

Your eternal, sovereign joy is in me, and my joy is full.
