Reserved For Me

1 Peter 1

Father, by your grace and through your inscrutable choice, I am your elect. You elected me for salvation and sanctification. I am cleansed and forgiven of my sins by the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and I am converted to be obedient to you.

You have begotten me again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for me. I am kept by your power through faith.

Though I have not seen you, Lord Jesus, you have been revealed to me through your word and by the witness of your spirit who now dwells in me. Thereby, I do believe, and I rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, even though, while in this flesh, I am grieved from time to time by various trials.

These trials test the genuineness of my faith. But my faith remains, purified as if by fire and firm to the salvation of my soul.

You Will Return

James 4 & 5

Father, I draw near to you, and you draw near to me. I am cleansed and purified by you. I take your salvation very seriously. I humble myself before you, and you encourage me.

I do not presume regarding my will and ways. After all, my life, in this flesh, is fragile and temporal, like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

I am not in charge, Father. It is you who are God, and you who are the Lord of my life. I am not so arrogant as to think I am anything besides your bond servant, and I am thankful to be that.

I am generous and fair to those who lead me and to those who serve me. I am patient, and my heart is set on you, Lord. You fill me now, and in your timing, you will return to this earth. By your grace and communing fellowship, I persevere. You, Father, are compassionate and merciful.

Cannot Be Shaken

Hebrews 12 & 13

Thank you, Father. By your grace, I have received a kingdom that cannot be shaken by which I can serve you acceptably with reverence and Godly fear. You, Father, are a consuming fire.

I am content with such that I have for I have you, Lord Jesus, and you promise you will never leave me or forsake me. So, I know you are my helper. I do not fear. What can the world do to me.

Lord Jesus, you are faithful to me as my Lord and Savior. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your doctrine does not change. I am not deceived by “new” and strange doctrines.

I continue to give praise and thanks to you, Father, in the name of Jesus, and you, the God of Peace, make me complete in every good work to do your will. You work in me all that is well pleasing in your sight, through Jesus Christ. To you, Father, be glory forever and ever.

Better

Hebrews 8 & 10

Jesus, you are my Savior and my Lord. You are my high priest forever. You are seated at the right hand of the throne of God, our majestic father, in the heavens.

You minister in the sanctuary in heaven. That is the true Tabernacle that God erected and not the one erected on earth, which is a copy and a shadow of the heavenly one.

You, Lord Jesus, have a more excellent ministry, in as much as you are the mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

In this better covenant, you have put your laws in my mind and written them on my heart. You are my God, and I am yours. You, Father, have been merciful to my unrighteousness, and my sins and lawless deeds you remember no more. Through your perfect sacrifice, Lord Jesus, I have been sanctified.

For Me

2 Corinthians 5

Father, you have prepared me for eternity with you. When this tent that I dwell in is destroyed, I have a building from you, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Now I may groan from time to time, but you have prepared that, at your appointed time, my mortality will be swallowed up by life.

You have prepared this very thing for me, Father, and you have given me your Holy Spirit as a guarantee.

Therefore, I am always confident as I walk now in faith and not by sight. I am confident and content with the knowledge that when I leave this body, I will be present with you, my God and my father.

For now, I make it my aim to be well pleasing to you. I want to live my life no longer for myself, but for the Lord Jesus, who died for me and rose again.

Heir of Your Promise

Hebrews 6

Lord God, I have fled to you for refuge to lay hold of the hope you have set before me. This hope is an anchor for my soul. It is sure and steadfast, and it holds me securely in your presence.

Jesus, my Lord, is in your presence as my high priest, and he makes intercession for me with you daily.

So, I feed on the meat of your word everyday, Father. In your strength, I go towards perfection. I am filled with your Holy Spirit. I do not become sluggish, instead I follow the example of your apostles.

I work and labor in love toward the Lord Jesus and the brethren. I am diligent to live in full assurance of the hope I have in Christ Jesus. You assure me with your oath and your indwelling counsel that I am an heir of your promise.

Thank You, Lord

1 Corinthians 6; Hebrews 4 & 5

I belong to you, Lord Jesus. You bought me with a precious price, and I am glad and thankful.

You are my great high priest. You are now seated in the heavenlies with God, our father. You lived and served on this earth for a while, and you are able to empathize with my weaknesses since you were tempted in all ways, yet without sin.

Therefore, by your grace and through your priesthood, I am able to come boldly to the throne of God, my father, that I may obtain mercy and find grace for every day.

You, Lord Jesus, are the Christ. By the Father’s decree, you are the high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. You are perfected by the things you suffered. You are the author of my eternal salvation. Thank you, Lord.

Able

Hebrews 2 & 3

Lord Jesus, you are High Priest and Apostle of my confession. God, our father, appointed you, and you are faithful to him. You are faithful to all of us who are yours.

I am yours, and I hold fast to my faith in you as my savior. You are the Captain of my salvation. You, Lord Jesus, are the one who sanctifies, and you have sanctified me. I am one with you, Lord, and you call me brother.

You, yourself, took on flesh and blood, like me, that through your atoning death, you destroyed him who had the power of death, that is the devil. In that way, you released me from the bondage of the fear of death.

You were made like me so you could be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, our father. You made propitiation for my sins. You were tempted, and so you are able to aid me when I am tempted.

Poured Out Abundantly

Titus 2 & 3

I do not understand it all, Father, and I certainly haven’t earned it, but nevertheless, you, for your own purposes and by your grace, have chosen me and have decided sovereignly to redeem me from every lawless deed and to purify me to be one of your special people, zealous to be of use to you.

By your grace and mercy, you brought salvation to men. You have taught me to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. You have filled me with a nature who lives soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.

Now through faith and in communion with you, Holy Spirit, I look forward with blessed hope to the glorious appearing of my great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for me according to your mercy, Father.

You, Lord Jesus, saved me through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom you poured out on me abundantly.

Complete and Overflowing

Habakkuk 3; Ephesians 2; John 8; Malachi 3

Lord God, you are my strength, my hope, and my salvation. You make my feet like deers feet. You make me to walk on the high hills.

Times may be tough. Fruit and food may fail. Our land may be cut up and separated, yet I will rejoice in you, Father. I will joy in you because you are the God who saves.

By your grace, through faith in Jesus, your Christ, Father, you have saved me. I continue in your word. I am your disciple indeed. I know your truth, and your truth has set me free.

I fear and hallow you, Father. I meditate on your glory and love. I am yours. You make me precious to you. You spare me like a father spares a son who serves him.

You have opened the wonders of heaven for me. You pour out, from heaven, the blessing of your presence indwelling me. I am filled with your fullness, complete and overflowing.
