Moses had to be trained and disciplined by God first. He was right in his individual perspective, but he was not the person for the work until he had learned true fellowship and oneness with God. We are to reflect the glory and power and person of the Messiah to be used by our Lord. For God to be glorified we must be dependent and know that we are dependent and remain dependent even as we begin to “grow and succeed”.

The kingdom is always about Jesus as Savior and Messiah, and the father as God Almighty, and the Holy Spirit as the person of God working in the people chosen by God. Jesus is the Messiah. I never am. I must learn to “know” to keep my eyes on Jesus. He writes my life story. He is all and in all. I am complete in him and have learned to be content with him.

Ed’s thoughts:

Your Spirit, oh Lord, dwells in me like leaven and leavens my “whole” life. It is like a supernatural “chemical” reaction within my soul giving me a new heart and a desire to follow Jesus as my shepherd, to obey the word of God, to sit at my lord’s feet and hear Him, to find peace and healing in His touch, to walk now in His council and be ready to go home when He calls me.

His word grows in me like mustard seed. It starts off small but as God, my father, calls me and prepares my heart to be “good ground” the word of God sends out roots into all aspects of my life and grows up and out and spreads over my places and thoughts in life and, by God’s grace I become a channel of blessing to those around me and I dwell with my Lord, hidden with Him, in love, joy and peace. A clay jar filled with a treasure.

Thank you, father, that you are my God; that you have me. Thank you for your word of grace which builds me up and gives me the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

How precious is your steadfast love, oh God.  I take refuge in the shadow of your wings. I feast on the abundance of your house and you give me drink from the river of your delights. You have the fountain of life, and in your light I have light to see.  You keep me in your steadfast love and you are my righteousness.

I have tasted of the fellowship with you, Lord, and I know that you are good. You send out your light and your truth and they lead me. They bring me close to you. I go to the altar of my God with exceeding joy. I hope in you father and I praise you.

Thank you, Lord, that you give your good spirit to instruct me and you do not withhold your manna (your daily bread from heaven) from my mouth and you give me water for my thirst.

Sometimes I am so foolish and ignorant before thee. Nevertheless, I am always with you and you hold me in your right hand. You guide me with your counsel and afterward receive me to glory. You, oh Lord, are the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  I dwell with you and your spirit, father. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. You, oh Lord, are my refuge and my fortress. You are my God in whom I trust.  I call on you and you answer; you were with me in troubled times. You deliver me and honor me. You satisfy me with long life and you show me your salvation.

Neh 9, Ps 73, Ps 91

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. What the law could not do in the flesh, father, you did by sending your own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and you condemned sin in the flesh that the righteousness of the law be fulfilled in me as I walk in your spirit.  There is, therefore, no condemnation to me for I am in Christ Jesus and I walk after the spirit.

To be spiritually minded is life and peace. I am in the spirit because the spirit of God dwells in me.  I have the spirit of Christ, by God’s grace, so my body is dead but the Spirit is life eternal because of righteousness. The spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in me. He will also quicken my mortal body by his spirit who dwells in me.

I am not anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving I make my requests known to you, father. Your peace which passes all understanding keeps my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.  My life belongs to you, God. You are almighty and there is no other like you. You are God of heaven above and earth below.

You have held my life in your hands from before the foundation of the world and will never let me go. I am yours, bought with a price. “Even in my old age, you have me and I am yours. Even in my graying years, you care for me.”  You do all that needs doing with my life. You bear me up and you will deliver me.  Whether I live or die I am yours. For to this end Christ died and lived again that he would be Lord of both of the dead and the living.

Phil 4; I Cor 6; Ish 46

In you, oh Lord, I take refuge. You are a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me. You are my rock and my fortress. You lead me and guide me. You take me out of the net. Into your hands I commit my spirit. You have redeemed me, oh Lord, faithful God.

I extol you, oh Lord, for you have drawn me up. I cry for help and you have healed me. You restored me to life. I sing praises to you, all Lord, and give thanks to your holy name  Weeping may tarry for the night but for your children joy comes with the morning.

You instruct me and teach me in the way I should go. You counsel me as I see you. Your word, oh Lord, is upright and all your works are done in faithfulness. You love righteousness and justice.  The earth is full of your steadfast love, oh Lord, my God and my redeemer.

Psalms 30,32&33

Today I sing and make melody to you, Lord. You, oh Lord, are my light and my salvation. You, oh Lord, are the stronghold of my life. My heart does not fear.

One thing I ask, one thing I do, is to seek after you, Lord. I seek to dwell in your house, oh Lord, all the days of my life. I gaze upon your beauty and listen to your ways and word.

You hide me, Lord, in your shelter. You conceal me; you lift me high upon the rock. Teach me your way, oh Lord, and lead me on a level path. I believe I shall look upon your goodness, Lord, in the land of the living! I wait for you, Lord. By your grace I am strong and my heart takes courage. I wait for you Lord, my heart sings.

Psalms 27

Today, Father, by your grace and with your Holy Spirit I am sober minded. I patiently endure suffering. I do the work you have for me. I fulfill my ministry. I am poured out as a drink offering; the timing of my life is completely in your hands. I fight the good fight; I run the race in Christ; I keep the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which my Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

So whatever I do, I do it heartily as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord I will receive the inheritance as my reward, for I serve the Lord Christ.

My Lord rescues me from every evil deed and brings me safely to his heavenly kingdom.

2 Tim 4 & Col 3

The old commandment that we have had from the beginning is the same as the new commandment. It is all the “word” that we have heard. We have seen it manifest perfectly in the Lord Jesus and seen glimpses of the word, Jesus the Christ,  manifested in the apostles, and sometimes even seen the Lord manifested in us.

Jesus states the old and new commandment that, ” we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves”. John explains that loving our brothers shows we walk in the light, not loving shows we are in darkness. When we are in darkness we do not know where we are going because darkness has blinded our eyes. When we stay angry with the brethren we are being (choosing to be) blind. We are not seeing the whole picture. The word is not abiding in us and we are being overcome by evil.
