The Chosen

Matthew 21&22

Hallelujah, Heavenly Father, you do not do things the way mankind does. Jesus is your Messiah, and many will reject him, but you make him your cornerstone. Everyone has to deal with your savior who is meek enough and strong enough to die to his self and give himself wholly to your kingship.

This is a stumbling stone for all of mankind. All are called by you to deal with Jesus. To decide and live accordingly; do you believe he is the Messiah or not, and if you say you believe where is the fruit and the obedience?

So, some fall on the stone and are broken. They come to an end of themselves. They see their sin, and they repent. They are born from above. They put off the old man, and they put on the new. They are clothed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus. They are the chosen, and I am one of them.

Many others are called, but they are not broken by the stumbling stone. They stubbornly resist and reject Christ Jesus. The truth of him as the only way to the Father, falls on them, and they are ground to powder. They were called, but they were never the chosen.

Peace

Matthew 18, 19&20

Father, I forgive from my heart any who have hurt or offended me. I am joined to my wife, and we are one.

When my heart was hard years ago, I divorced, and I was wrong. I broke vows made to you, and that is a sin. I was an adulterer, but by your grace and forgiveness, I am no longer an adulterer.

Now, in Christ, I am redeemed. I am humble before you. Now I am one with my wife, and nothing will separate that.

I see you, Lord Jesus, in your scripture, and I believe in you, and I receive you as my Lord and Savior. I keep your commandments, and all that I have is yours. I follow you, Lord. I leave houses, lands, and lifestyles for your sake, Lord Jesus, and you provide for my needs and my peace, and I have eternal life.

It is not that I have earned or can earn anything from you, but by your grace, you are merciful. You do what you want with your kingdom. You do good to me. I was last in character and maturity, and you have chosen to make me first.

Strenghtened

Matthew 15; Philippians 4; Ephesians 3

Praise you, Lord Jesus, my heart is near you. Your word is my doctrine. I have been planted by you. I am yours. By your grace through faith, I have been born again. With your word, and in communion with your spirit, I keep watch over my heart.

I meditate on things that are true and noble, just and pure, lovely and of good report. I keep my eyes on that which I have learned and received, and heard and seen in you, Lord Jesus, things that have virtue and that are praiseworthy. Those are the things I meditate on and you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are with me in all of that.

In that way I have learned to be content whether I abound or suffer need. I am Christ’s, and because you, Lord Jesus, are mine, I can do all these things through you, because it is your spirit in me who strengthens me.

You, Lord, supply everything I need according to your riches in glory. You grant me, according to those glorious riches, to be strengthened with might by your Holy Spirit, who dwells and works in my inner man.

For A Season

Matthew 13

Father, I know your kingdom is the treasure. It is the most beautiful. I give up all of me to belong to you and your kingdom.

Now the devil has sown evil into your kingdom, and you let that evil sort people out. Your kingdom, like a net, gathers every kind of person, and at your appointed time, your angels will come forth and separate the wicked from among the just.

You say you will send out your angels, and they will gather out of your kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness. You say those will be cast into a furnace of fire, and there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous, with the righteousness imputed from Christ, will shine forth as the sun in your kingdom, Father.

Now, for a season, you let us both grow together until the time of harvest. Until then, you fill those who are yours with the treasure of your word, and we bring forth your old and your new promises of salvation to everyone who will hear.

In Ever Increasing Measure

John 6; Matthew 12&13

Father, thank you for the gift of faith. By your grace, I am able to see Jesus as your only begotten son, full of mercy and grace, and I am able to believe on him as your Christ, and to receive him as the Lord of my life and my savior. I am saved, and I have eternal life with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You fill me now with your presence, and you will lift me up at the last days.

Lord Jesus, I live in the will of God, our father, and you are my brother. You give me understanding to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. Day by day, you give me understanding in abundance.

You have healed me and delivered me, and now I have eyes that see and ears that hear. I understand your parables, and I keep your word in front of my eyes, and I write it on my heart.

I receive your word with joy. Your commands and promises are rooted deep in me. I keep my eyes on your good and eternal things, and not on the things of the world. I hear your word, and I understand you, Lord Jesus. You fill me with your spirit, and I begin to bear the fruit of your Holy Spirit in ever increasing measure.

Eternal, All Powerful

Matthew 12; Romans 5

Lord Jesus, I behold you, chosen by God, our father, to be the Messiah. The Father is well pleased with you. You are filled with God, the Spirit. You do not quarrel. You do not physically fight.

Through your obedience and humility, you give victory to the Father’s justice. Now I call on your name, Lord Jesus, and I am saved. When I was lost and without strength to fix it, you, Lord Jesus, died to be the propitiation for my sin.

Now I am justified with the Father, by your blood, Lord, and saved from the wrath of God. Lord, by your death, I am reconciled to God, my Heavenly Father. I am reconciled by your death, Lord Jesus, and saved by your life.

I rejoice with you, Father, through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Now the grace of God reigns in my life through the righteousness of Christ Jesus, my Lord, and I am filled with eternal, all powerful life.

Great

Exodus 33; Matthew 11&10

Good morning, Father, thank you for your grace. Your person is in me and guides me. You go with me, and you give me rest. Show me your way today that I may enjoy our fellowship.

Lord Jesus, today I come to you with my labor and burdens. I take your yoke upon me. I am joined to you forever in eternal love and life. You give me rest. I learn from you for you are meek and lowly, and I find rest for my soul. Your yoke is easy, and your burden is light.

I take up your cross as the way to live on this earth day by day. I follow after you, Lord Jesus. I lose my life for your sake, Lord, and I find joy and rest. I receive daily bread from you and from our Heavenly Father, and I give to others from what you have given to me. Your reward to me is great.

Planted by the Rivers of Water

Psalm 1; Job 42; Psalm 1&2; Psalm 31

You know me, Lord, hallelujah! You have blessed my latter days greater than my former.

Now my delight is in your indwelling presence and in your living word. I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water. I bring forth your fruit, Holy Spirit, in season, and my leaf does not wither. Whatever I do prospers!

I put my trust in you, and I am blessed. You, Father, are my rock and my fortress. You lead me and guide me for your name’s sake. You are my strength. I commit my spirit to you.

I am glad, and I rejoice in your mercy. You set my feet in a wide place.

No Longer

Ephesians 2; Matthew 10; Hebrews 4; Galatians 2

Lord Jesus, by your grace through faith in you, I have been born from above. Now I belong to you, and I do not fear what man can do. Now I fear and hallow God, our Heavenly Father, for he is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

I am your disciple, and I pray and study to be like you. Your spirit fills me, and it is God, the Spirit, who speaks in me. Thank you for perfect communion.

I confess you before people, Lord Jesus, and you confess me before God, our father. I understand that you and your word does not bring peace to this world, rather it is like a sword; living and powerful and sharp. It pierces even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow. Your word shows me the thoughts and intents of my heart. Nothing is hidden from your sight, Lord. Your eyes are on me, and I must give an account, and I do.

My account is, I belong to Jesus. It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me, and this life that I now live, I live by the faith of the Lord Jesus, the Christ, who loves me, and who gave himself for me.

Day by Day

Matthew 6

Father, thank you for the provision of what I need to live on this earth. I am thankful, but my eyes are on heaven. I do not concentrate on laying up treasures on this earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where world events and bad people take away.

I live thrifty and generously in your kingdom, laying up for myself treasures with you, Father, where they stay safe and secure. My heart is with you, Father, and your good pleasure is my treasure.

I keep my eyes on good things because those things give peace and encouragement. My whole body is full of light. I see you, Lord, and your holiness. I serve you, Lord, and I am loyal to you. You are the word of life, Lord. The report of the world is not life.

I am free of the world and secure in you, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Therefore, I do not worry about my life. I know you love me, and I know I am a value to you. You know all that I have need of before I even ask, and you take care of those things.

I seek you, Lord Jesus, and I dwell in your righteousness, and you add to my life all that is needed. I do not worry about the future. I live fully in Christ and in your salvation, Father, day by day.
