Firm to the End

Hebrews 2&3

Thank you, Father, for my Lord Jesus, who took part in flesh and blood, so that through his death he has destroyed him who had the power of death, that is the devil.  Through his death and resurrection Jesus has delivered me from the bondage of the fear of death.

Jesus took of the seed of Abraham, which included me, and in all things, he became like me, his brother, so that he is my merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to you, my heavenly Father, Almighty God.  In all this Jesus reconciled me to you, Father.  Moses was faithful to you, Father, as a servant, but Jesus, the Christ, is faithful as a son over his own, including me as his.  I hold fast to confidence in Jesus, and I rejoice in the hope. Firm to the end.

Living Hope

1 Peter 1

Thank you, Father, for electing me and sanctifying me through your Spirit. Thank you that in your abundant mercy you have a begotten me into a lively hope by the resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled that fades not away and is reserved in heaven for me.

Thank you, Father, that I am kept by your power through faith into a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last times.  I rejoice in that salvation even though now, for a season, if need be, there is unhappiness and manifold tests and trials. These try my faith as fire tries gold and my faith is found to the praise and honor and glory of my Lord Jesus, the Christ.

The Incorruptible Seed

1 Peter 1

I gird up the loins of my mind. I am sober and hope to the end for the grace that is brought to me by the revelation of Jesus Christ.  As an obedient child I do not fashion myself any longer according to my former lusts when I was ignorant. But now as you, Father, have called me to be holy, by your grace I am holy.

I am redeemed by your grace and Jesus’ atonement. I am redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, who was ordained before the foundation of the world.  Through Jesus I believe in you, my heavenly Father, who raised up Jesus from the dead and gave Him glory so that my faith and hope would be in you, the true God. My soul is purified because I have believed your truth.  I am born again by the incorruptible seed, the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

Spirit and Life

John 6

Lord Jesus, I come to you and I believe in you. You are meet for my every need. Those who come to you will never hunger, and those who believe in you shall never thirst. By grace, God, the Father, has chosen me and given me to you, Lord Jesus. I have come to you and you will never cast me out. It is the Father’s will that none of those who are his will be lost. By God’s grace, and power, everyone who looks on you, Lord Jesus, and believes in you, will have eternal life, and you will raise them up in the last days.

I only come to you, Lord, because the Father draws me. The bread you give me is your flesh, your perfect life, and the blood you shed is your death, your atoning sacrifice. I feed on those two things, and I have eternal life. I believe you were and are the Messiah. I seek hard after you day by day so that I will be in you and that you, Lord Jesus, will be in me by your word and by your Spirit. It is the Spirit who gives life, and the flesh is no help at all. The words you speak to me, Lord Jesus, are Spirit and life.

A Place for Me

John 14

Lord Jesus, I believe in God and I believe also in you. My heart is at rest and untroubled. In God’s house there are lots of rooms, and you have gone on to the Father to prepare a place for me. I know that you will come again, and you will take me to yourself that where you are, I will be also. You are the way, the truth, and the life. I have been reconciled to God, the Father, through you. Now I know the Holy Spirit. He is my helper, and He is the truth. He dwells with me and is in me.

I am in a living, eternal, divine communion with you, Lord Jesus, and with God, my heavenly Father, through God the Spirit. You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, make your abode in me. You have left your peace with me; you give me your divine peace in your eternal person. God the Spirit in me shows to me the Father’s love and presence. The Holy Spirit teaches me all things and brings to my remembrance all the things that my Lord has said to me. The Holy Spirit shows me the thoughts and intents of my heart and guides me in the way I should go.

Full Assurance

Colossians 2&3

I thank you, Father, that by your grace, I have all the riches of full assurance of understanding and knowing your mystery, which is Christ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. So, as I have received Christ, I continue to walk in him by faith. He is my Lord, Savior, and Messiah. I am rooted and built up in him and established in the faith as your word, Father, teaches me. And I am abounding in thanksgiving.

I am complete in Christ, who is the head of all rule and authority. I have been buried with him in baptism and raised up with him through faith in your powerful working, Father. I was dead in my sins and trespasses, but you have made me alive together with my Lord Jesus.

I have been raised with Christ and I seek the things above where Christ is seated at your right hand, Father. I set my mind on things above and not on the things that are on the earth. For I have died, and my life is hidden with Christ in you, Father. When Christ who is my life appears, then I will appear with Him in glory. Thank you, Father, for my great salvation.

From Him, Through Him and To Him

1 Corinthians 1, Romans 10, John 14, Colossians 2&3, Romans 11, 2 Peter 1

Because of your will and grace, Father, I am in Christ Jesus and he has become to me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. The righteous Spirit that you have given me says in me, “the Word is near me, he is in my mouth and in my heart.”

Jesus is the word of faith that I proclaim. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord. Jesus is my Lord, and I believe with all my heart, that you, Father, raised Jesus from the dead.

I know that through that faith I am saved by Jesus’ life and his atoning sacrifice. I call upon the name of Jesus and I am saved. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I am reconciled to you, Father, through Jesus, the Christ.

I am complete in Christ, who is the head of all rule and authority. Faith is not about gentile or Jew, but faith is, “Christ is all and in all.” For from him and through him and to him are all things.

Thank you, Father, that you and your divine power have granted to me all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of you and your son.

Fearless Wherever I Am

Hebrews 2, Mark 10, John 8, 1 Corinthians 6

Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Christ. You partook of flesh and blood. You took on humanness just like me, so that through death you destroyed the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and you delivered me from the slavery of the fear of death. You came to serve our Father and to give your life as a ransom for me.

I am your disciple indeed, Lord Jesus. I continue in your word. I know the truth and the truth has set me free.

My heavenly Father has chosen me, and my Lord Jesus has bought me with his righteous life and redeemed me from the bondage of sin. Jesus, the Son of God, has made me free, and whom the son sets free is free indeed.

Christmas, Easter, and other “special” days remind me of my freedom, freedom from the fear of death. Jesus took on my nature in Bethlehem and died my death in Jerusalem so that, I can be fearless wherever I am. The biggest threat to my joy is gone. Death is no longer a fear. I am truly free. No more bondage to anxiety.

To God My Father

Romans 5

Hallelujah, good morning Lord, by one man’s obedience many were made righteous. Even though sin increases, grace abounds all the more. Grace reigns through the righteousness of Jesus Christ leading to eternal life for me. With joy I receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness that is mine through Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Since I have been justified by faith, I have peace with you God, my heavenly Father. Through Christ I have also obtained access by faith to this grace in which I now stand, and I rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

I rejoice as you, Father, work in my character to produce endurance, Christ-like character, and hope. This hope does not disappoint because God’s love has been poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to me as a gift by you, Father.

Since I have been justified by Jesus’ blood, much more I am saved, by my Lord Jesus from the wrath of God. By Christ I have been perfectly and joyously reconciled to God, my Father.

Always with the Lord

1 Thessalonians 4

Father, your word informs me that there will be loss of loved ones in this lifetime, and that that loss will lead to times of grieving and times of tears, but, in faith, I do not grieve as one who has no hope. For I believe that Jesus died and rose again and that, through Jesus, you, Father, will raise with Christ all those of yours who have fallen asleep.

Those who have fallen asleep will precede those who are left at the coming of the Lord Jesus when he descends from heaven. He will descend at the time appointed by you, Father, with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the sound of your trumpet, Father.

The dead in Christ will rise first. Then those who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we always be with the Lord.
