Pleasing in His Sight

1 John 2; 1 Thessalonians 5; 2 Timothy 4; Hebrews 13

By your grace and illumination to me, father, I love the brethren and there is no darkness in me. I abide in the light and there is no cause for me to stumble. The word abides in me, and in Christ, I have overcome the evil one.

I admonish the idle, encourage the faint-hearted, help the weak, and I am patient with them all. I am ready in season and out of season to share your word, Lord, to reprove, rebuke, and exhort with complete patience and teaching.

I am sober-minded, long suffering, and yielded to your hand, father, for the ministry you have for me.

You, oh Lord, are the God of Peace. You brought my Lord Jesus again from the dead. Thank you that today you equip me with everything good that I may do your will.

You work in me that which is pleasing in your sight through Jesus Christ.

In Deed and in Truth

1 John 3

Lord God, you tell me clearly that, ” We should love one another “. We should not be angered (hate) at the brethren because they are different or because we are jealous.

I know I have passed out of death and into life because I love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. I know love because I know you, Lord Jesus. I know that you lay down your life for me and that I ought to lay down my life for my brothers.

If I have the world’s goods and see my brother in need, I should gladly, thankfully, help meet that need, recognizing how you, father, have met my needs.

I do this well by recognizing your love for me and training myself to abide in that love. As your love abides in me, father, I love the brothers in deed and in truth.

The Father’s Pleasure

John 17; Luke 12

Lord Jesus, you have made known to me the father, and you continue to make him known to me so that the love with which the father has loved you, Lord Jesus, will be in me, and you, my Savior, will dwell in me.

Hallelujah, I am not anxious about my life, what I will drink or what I will eat. Life is more than food and clothing. You, my God, feed me. Instead, I seek your kingdom, father, and your righteousness, and all these other things are added to me.

I do not fear for I know it is your good pleasure, father, to give me the kingdom.

God’s Delight

John 17; 1 John 2&4

God’s delight in his Son now dwells in me and is mine. This will never end, because neither the Father nor the Son ever end.

Their love for each other is my love for them, and therefore, my loving them and my knowing I am loved will never end.

I keep my eyes and thoughts on your word, Lord. In you, verily, is the love of God perfected. I love the brethren, so I know God dwells in me, and his love is perfected in me.

Herein is my love made perfect, that I may have boldness on the day of judgment. There is no fear in that kind of love, but perfect love casteth out fear because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

A Building from God

2 Corinthians 5

If this tent, which is my earthly home, is destroyed, I know I have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. In this tent, I groan, being burdened.

I look forward during this time to being further clothed, so that what is mortal maybe swallowed up by life. God has prepared for me this very thing and given me the Holy Spirit as a guarantee.

So, I am always of good courage. I walked by faith and not by sight. So, whether I am at home or away, my aim is to please God. The love of Christ controls me, because I have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore, all have died.

And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live to themselves, but for him who, for their sake, died and was raised. From now on, therefore, I regard no one according to the flesh.

Boast in the Lord

2 Corinthians 5; Psalm 34

From now on, I regard no one according to the flesh. If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.

All of this is from God who through Christ has reconciled me to himself. I am reconciled to God. For my sake, God made Jesus to be sin, even though he knew no sin, so that in him I have become the righteousness of God.

The eyes of the Lord are towards me, and he hears my cries. He delivers me out of all my troubles. He is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

The Lord redeems my life. I bless the Lord at all times, and his praise is continually in my mouth. My soul makes its boasts in the Lord.

The Very Spirit of God

Matthew 5; John 6&7

Father, today I acknowledge that I am poor in spirit, and I need you everyday, for in you is the kingdom of heaven. I hunger and I thirst for real righteousness, the righteousness that is in you, Lord Jesus, and you satisfy my thirst.

Your flesh is true food, and your blood is true drink. Spiritually I feed on your flesh and drink your blood, and I abide in you, and you abide in me.

Your words are spirit and life, and it is the Spirit that, ” gives life, and the flesh is no help at all”. I thirst, and I come to you, Lord Jesus, Messiah, and I drink. I believe in you, and out of my heart flow rivers of living water, the very Spirit of God.

Given to Me

Romans 4&5

I do not waiver concerning your promises, father, but I grow strong in faith and give glory to you! I am fully convinced that you, my heavenly father, are able to do all that you have promised.

My faith in you, father, and in Jesus, your son, is counted to me as righteousness. I believe that you, father, raised from the dead Jesus, my Lord, and delivered up Jesus, your Messiah, as propitiation for my trespasses, and that you raised Jesus for my justification.

Therefore, since I have been justified by faith, I have peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ. Through him I have obtained access by faith into the grace of God in which I now stand, and in which I rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

I have Divine hope because the love of God is poured into my heart through the Holy Spirit who has been given to me.

The Word, Your Words

Colossians 1,2,&3; Romans 15

The Word, your words, Lord, was written beforehand for my learning that through the patience and comfort of the scripture, I would have hope. Lord, fill me with all joy and peace in believing, that I abound in hope through the power and presence of your Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, establish me according to the gospel and the preaching of my Lord Jesus, in accordance with the answer to the mystery. That mystery, by your grace, is now manifested in me. Jesus, the Christ, dwells in me, and I am led by his Spirit. He is the very glory of God, and Christ in me as my hope of glory.

I seek those things above where Jesus is seated at your right hand, father. I set my affections on things above and not on the things of this earth, for I am dead, and my life is hidden with Christ in God, and when Christ, who is my life, shall appear then I will appear with him in glory.

Jesus Manifest in Me

John 12; 2 Corinthians 4

Thank you, Lord, that by your grace I have received mercy. Mercy I certainly did not deserve.

The god of this world had blinded my eyes, but you, oh Lord, broke through that bondage and filled my eyes with the light of the glorious gospel of Christ. Now Jesus, the Christ, shines in my heart and mind.

My body is an earthen vessel filled with a treasure who is your presence and power. I know that power is of you and not of me.

There are troubles all around, but I am not distressed. I am perplexed, but I do not despair, because of your living presence within me, Lord. I am not destroyed, but now I walk through this life filled with your Spirit, led by your Spirit, and dead to my flesh. The life of Jesus is manifest in my body.
