Loving, Sovereign, Heavenly Father

1 Corinthians 15; Hebrews 11

Thank you, Father, that you have given me victory over sin and death, through my Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, I am steadfast and immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. I know that my labor is not in vain.

My faith is in your gospel, Father. All your words are true. You, through Christ, are the substance of all I hope for, and your presence in me is the evidence of the truth of your unseen presence and power and promise.

You framed the worlds by your word. You made things that are seen from things that are invisible. My faith is a gift from you, and it pleases you to see me believe. This is my good testimony to you: I believe that you are God, and I know that you reward all those who diligently seek you.

By faith, I obey you, even though I don’t always know where we are going, but I press on knowing I am headed for a city whose builder and maker is you, my loving, sovereign, Heavenly Father.

Full Assurance

Hebrews 10

Lord Jesus, God, our father, prepared a body for you. You took on that body and came to do the will of God. By that will, I have been sanctified, through your offering of your body, Lord Jesus, once for all.

You, the Son of Man, offered one sacrifice for sins forever and sat down at the right hand of God. Now you wait till your enemies are made your footstool. By one offering, you, my Lord, have perfected me and all those who are being sanctified.

The presence of your Holy Spirit with me witnesses your truth and power to me. I know that you have put your laws into my heart. You have written them on my mind. You remember my sins and lawless deeds no more.

Therefore, because of your atoning sacrifice, Lord Jesus, I enter the holiest place by this new and living way which you consecrated for me. I draw near to God, our father, with a true heart and full assurance of faith.

My heart is sprinkled from an evil conscience, and my body is washed with pure water. I hold fast this confession of hope without wavering.

This Time for Salvation

Hebrews 9 & 10

Lord Jesus, you came as high priest of the good things to come. You ministered in the great and perfect tabernacle in heaven, a tabernacle not made with hands; not of this creation.

With your own blood, you entered the most holy place once for all and obtained eternal redemption. Your offering cleansed my conscience from dead works and set me to serve the Living God.

You, Lord Jesus, are the mediator of a new covenant, and all of us, who are called, receive through that covenant the promise of the eternal inheritance.

For you, Lord, did not enter the holy place made with hands which is just a copy, a shadow, and not the very image. Instead, you entered into heaven itself to appear in the presence of God, our father, for me. You appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of yourself.

You, Lord Jesus, were offered once to bear the sins of many, and now we eagerly wait for you to appear a second time, not for sin, but this time for salvation.

You, Oh Lord

Psalm 86

Good morning, Lord, hear my prayer today. Attend to the voice of my supplication. Each day and every day, I call upon you, Lord, and you answer me.

There is no other God but you, Lord. There are no other works like your works, Father. You have made all the nations, and, on the day appointed by you, all those who are yours will come and worship before you, oh Lord. Your name will be glorified.

You are great, and you do wondrous things. You alone are God.

Teach me your way, oh Lord, and I will walk in your truth. Unite my heart to fear you and to know the love and mercy you have for me. I praise you, Lord, with all my heart. I glorify your name forevermore.

Your mercy has been great toward me, Father, and you have delivered my soul from the depths of eternal regret.

You, oh Lord, are full of compassion and grace, longsuffering and mercy. You, Father, are truth. You give me strength. You save me. You, oh Lord, are my comfort and consolation. You are my salvation. You are my eternal life.

Back Among the Living

Psalms 81 & 78; Luke 24; 1 Corinthians 7; Hebrews 12

You, Father, are the Lord my God. You gave me life and put me in a family that loved me, and you called me to your salvation.

But, there came a time in my life when I would not heed your voice. So you gave me over to my stubborn heart to walk in my own counsel. You gave me those things that I thought I desired. Soon my days were consumed in futility, and my years became filled with fear.

In your mercy, you brought me to the end of myself. You granted me repentance. You broke my stubbornness. Then I sought you earnestly and returned to you, my God.

I gave ear to your law, and I inclined my ears to your scripture. I began to speak your word, which lived in me through your spirit and came to me through your preachers. I considered your strength and your wonderful works in my life, and I gave you praise.

Now I am back among the living. By your grace, I belong to you through the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been bought with a price, and I am no longer my own. I keep my eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith, of my life story.

Sure Guarantee

Hebrews 7 & 8

Lord Jesus, you are the sure guarantee of a better covenant. By the Father’s grace and decree, you are able to save, to the uttermost, each of us who come to God through you. You are always making intercession for us who are yours.

You are a perfect fitting high priest for me. You are holy, harmless, and undefiled. You are separate from sinners, and you are higher than the heavens.

The old law appointed as high priests men who were weak, but now through the Father’s oath, you, Lord Jesus, are appointed high priest, perfect forever.

This is the point: I need a perfect high priest who has offered for sin once for all, and in you, Lord Jesus, I have such a high priest. You are seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. You, Lord, are a minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tabernacle which God erected and not man.

Not Fail

Hebrews 1; Isaiah 61; Hebrews 1

Lord Jesus, you are God’s son. God the Father has begotten you. All the angels of the Father worship you. You are God, and your throne is forever and ever. The scepter of righteousness is the scepter of your kingdom.

You love righteousness, and you hate lawlessness. Therefore, God the Father, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness more than any other one.

You are light, and the glory of God the Father is upon you. The gentiles have come to your light, Lord Jesus, and kings have come to the brightness of your rising.

In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain. You are the same, and your years will not fail.

I Also Walk

Titus 3; John 3; Galatians 5

Thank you, Father, for your kindness and love. In your mercy, you saved me through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit who you poured out on me abundantly through Christ Jesus, my Savior.

I am justified through your grace, Lord Jesus, and I have become an heir of God, and I live in the sure hope of eternal life with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I am obedient to our laws. I do not speak evil of anyone. I am peaceable and gentle. I am humble, for I once was slave to my fleshy lust and deceived by my selfish humanity.

Now, however, I have been born again. Now, I am born of your Holy Spirit, Father. Now, I walk in your Spirit, and I no longer fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

The flesh and the Spirit are contrary to each other, but hallelujah, I am dead to my flesh and alive forever by God the Spirit. I belong to you Christ Jesus. I live in your Spirit, and I also walk in your Spirit.

Blessed Hope

Titus 2; Ephesians 2

Thank you, Father, that Christ, through your grace and in your word, has appeared to me and brought me salvation. You have taught me to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age. I avoid ungodliness, and I deny worldly lusts.

I keep my eyes on your scripture, and I look for and live daily in your blessed hope. I look forward to your glorious appearing, Lord Jesus, my great God and Savior.

You, Lord Jesus, gave yourself for me and redeemed me from all my lawless deeds, and by your sacrifice, you purified me, and I became your special person, your servant, your brother, an instrument in your hands, zealous to be used by you.

In you, Christ Jesus, I am a masterpiece, set apart for good works that God, our father, determine beforehand I would be involved in.

Forever With You

Isaiah 43

I do not fear, for you, Almighty God, my father, have redeemed me. You have called me by name, and I am yours. This chaotic world rocks like the sea, but I am not alone for you are with me.

Human issues drag at me like a river, but they do not overcome me, because you hold me fast. Anger and rage burn in many people, but I pass through this world, and I am not burned.

You, Lord Jesus, are my Lord and Savior. You are God, and you have saved me and reconciled me to God, our father.

I am precious in your sight. You have honored me with your indwelling presence. You love me. I do not fear because you are with me. You created me for your glory, and I am called by your name.

You, Father, formed me. You made me. I am a chosen servant of yours. You gave me grace and faith so that I could know you and believe you. I am your witness, and I testify that you, Father, are God and that I am forever with you.
