Gift to Me

Matthew 11; Romans 8; 2 Corinthians 5; Hebrews 10; Matthew 11; Ephesians 2

Today, Lord Jesus, I come unto you. You give me rest. I know that you have fulfilled the law and that you have become the perfect, acceptable payment for my sin. I could never accomplish those things, but through you, divine righteousness is credited to me.

I have been sanctified through the offering of your body, Lord Jesus, once for all. By that one offering, you perfected me forever.

I take up my cross, and I learn from you, Lord. You are gentle and lowly in heart. In you, Lord, in your person and in your word, I find rest for my soul. You, Lord, have done all that had to be done. It is finished.

For me, by your grace and your love, I find my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. I do not deserve it, but now I know it is your gift to me.

New Life

Isaiah 61

Lord Jesus, the Spirit of God, our father, was upon you. The Father anointed you to preach good tidings to the poor in spirit. Our father sent you to heal the brokenhearted and to reconcile us to Almighty God, our father.

You, Lord Jesus, proclaimed liberty to us who were captive to sin and bound in the prison of fleshy lusts. You, Lord, proclaimed God’s salvation and God’s faithfulness to come at a time appointed, and to raise his people, and to wreak vengeance on those who are not his.

Lord Jesus, in your life and in your word, I am comforted; I find consolation. Because of sin, my life had become ashes. I mourned at the way I had lived. I was depressed by my nastiness.

You, Lord, called me and loved me. You granted me repentance from sin and showed me your atoning sacrifice given to me out of your love. My life through you took on beauty and praise. I realized that, by your grace, I was justified and made righteous. I had new life.

All Things

Colossians 1

Father, you have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the son of your love, my Lord Jesus, in whom I have redemption, through his perfect propitiation, the forgiveness of my sins.

Jesus is the visual and tactile image of you, Father. He is preeminent over all creation.

All things were and are created by him, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, principalities or powers. All things, big and little, important or seemingly unimportant, were created through him and for him.

Jesus Christ is before all things, and in him, all things consist. He is the sustainer, and he is the head of the body of Christ, that is he is the head of the true church.

You, Lord Jesus, are the very beginning. You are the first born from the dead. In all things, and in every way, you are preeminent. In you all the fullness of God dwells.

Preserved in Jesus Christ

Jude; Revelation 1

Thank you, Father, that through your scripture and your indwelling spirit, you keep me from stumbling, and you present me faultless in your presence, with great joy.

You, Father, have saved me. You, Lord Jesus, are my savior. You are all wise. To you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, be glory, and majesty, and dominion, and power both now and forever.

You, Father, proclaim me sanctified, and I am preserved in Jesus Christ. Your mercy, and peace, and love are multiplied to me.

I keep myself in your love, Father, and rest in the sureness of the mercy of my Lord Jesus for new life; new life now in this flesh, and new life eternally with you, Father.

Lord Jesus, you loved me, and you freed me from my sins with your own blood. You have put me in your kingdom, and you have become my perfect high priest. To you be glory and dominion forever and ever.

You, Lord Jesus, are the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and you are the ruler over all the kings and kingdoms of the earth.

Your Fullness, Father

Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 6; Galatians 3; Romans 12; Ephesians 3

Good morning, Lord. Today I come to you and bow before you. I offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to you. That is my reasonable spiritual service, for I belong to you.

I am no longer my own. I have been bought with a price. I have been redeemed by you, Father, through the Lord Jesus. I am back among the living, by your grace, and I am glad of it.

I am no longer conformed to the image of the world, instead I’m transformed as you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, renew my mind. According to the riches of your glory, Father, you have strengthened me with might, through your spirit, in my inner man.

Christ dwells in my heart through faith, and I am rooted and grounded in love. By your presence and communion, I begin to comprehend how wide and long and deep and high is your love for me. I know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, and I am filled with all your fullness, Father.

Terror from You

Isaiah 3; Matthew 13; Isaiah 5 & 3

You, oh Lord, are the Lord of Hosts. There is a terror from you to those who disobey. There is glory from you to those that are yours. For now you let us grow up together, those who are yours and those who are the enemy’s.

For now sin holds sway in our land. Our people are oppressed. Many are insolent toward elders and rude to the honorable. We pick leaders for the wrong reasons, and we wind up with leaders who err and destroy us.

Our people fall for foolish “wisdom” as if it is true. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who called perversity glorious.

Many act against God. Many have the gall to provoke you, Lord. They declare their sin as Sodom. They do not hide it. Woe to their soul. They have brought evil upon themselves and upon our nation.

Therefore, Lord, you strike us with sickness. You expose our secrets. You turn the perfume into stench. Please, Lord, guard those who are yours and grant us honorable leaders.

Whenever You Have Ordained

Isaiah 2

Oh Lord, forgive our country and bring us to repentance. Our people have turned away. They are filled with foreign ways and use soothsayers and unholy guides. They are pleased to be led by foreigners.

Our land is filled with wealth and treasure, but has become a land filled with idols. Many people worship their own selves and the things they have made. Many people bow down to other people as gods or idols. Many people are filled with pride and are haughty.

Your day will come, when you have ordained it, Father, and everything proud and lofty will be brought low. You alone will be exalted in that day, and the idols you will utterly abolish.

People will run and hide in that day as your terror and the glory of your majesty arises upon all this place. You, Father, will arise whenever you have ordained, and you will shake this place mightily.

Casts Out

1 John 3 & 4

Father, I keep my eyes on your scripture. I desire to obey you. I enjoy being obedient. I abide in you, and you abide in me. I believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I know Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.

I know your Holy Spirit dwells in me, because Christ is lifted up in my mind and heart. You commune with me with your Holy Spirit and your word, Father. I know I am of yours, Father, and I know that he that is in me is greater than he that is in the world.

I belong to you, Father. I hear from you. I know you, Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. You showed me your love for me, Father, by sending your only begotten son into the world so that I could live through him.

This is love. Not that I loved you, Father, but that you loved me and sent Jesus to be the propitiation for my sins. In this way, love is perfected in me. As Christ is, so am I in this world. There is no fear in this love. Your perfect love, Father, casts out fear.

Walk with You

1 John 1 & 2

Father, you are light, and in you is no darkness at all. I walk in your light, and I have communion and sweet fellowship with you. I live in the knowledge that the sacrifice of Jesus, your son, has cleansed me from all sin.

Now, when I sin or even begin to conceive of sin, I confess that to you, Father. I repent of the action or thought. You, Father, are faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

I don’t deserve such patience and mercy, but, by your grace, I have it as a gift from you, through my Lord Jesus. Jesus, the righteous, is my advocate with you, Father. He is the perfect, pleasing propitiation for my sins and for the sins of the whole world.

I know that I know you, Lord Jesus, because I love to see, and to obey, and to feast on your commandments. I love your word, Lord. The love of our father is perfected in me. I abide in you, Lord Jesus, and I walk with you.

Full

1 John 1

The Apostle John is an eyewitness to me, Lord. He heard you and saw you. He looked upon your raised body, and he touched you. He knows you are from the beginning, and he knows that you are the Word become flesh.

Through his testimony, I know that eternal, divine life manifests in you. All the Apostles saw it and bear witness to that truth with their writings and with their lives.

They declare these things to me so that I may have fellowship with them, and so that I can have fellowship with you, Lord Jesus, and with God, our father.

John writes that you, Father, are light and that in you is no darkness at all. He tells me that, if I walk in your light, I can have fellowship with other believers and that I have eternal loving fellowship with you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The blood of Jesus, your son, Father, has cleansed me from all sin, and my joy is full.
