Rich to Me

Romans 10 & 12; 2 Corinthians 5; Romans 10

Thank you, Father, that you sent preachers into my life; that I heard your word and that faith came alive in me and took root. I heard of Jesus as Savior and Lord, and, by your grace, I believed.

Now, through your word and your indwelling presence, I begin to truly know you, Father. I know your provision of salvation by righteousness through faith, faith in Christ Jesus as Messiah.

I know that Christ is the end of the law of righteousness for me because I believe and receive Christ Jesus as my way of salvation.

Your righteousness that comes by faith says I don’t have to go looking for my deliverer, instead my deliverer dwells in me through your Holy Spirit. My words are your words, Lord Jesus, and my heart is tuned to your heart.

You are transforming me by renewing my mind. I am no longer conformed to my old fleshy, worldly ways of doing things. Now I am in Christ and Christ is in me. Old things have passed away, behold, now I live from my new nature and you, Lord, are rich to me.

Neither Can Anything or Anyone

Romans 8; Colossians 1; Romans 8; John 10

Father, in accordance with your purposes, you foreknew me, and you also predestined me to be conformed to the image of your son and my Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. Thus he is the firstborn among many brethren.

You predestined me to be yours, and, in your sovereignty, all things work together in my life to see your will accomplished. You call me. You justify me. You are glorifying me.

You pour out your Holy Spirit on me so that I know real love and am able to love you. Your spirit leads me so I am able to begin to be used in your purposes. Now, by your spirit, Christ dwells in me. He is glorious. His presence in me is glory. Where he is, is always glorious.

Now, since you have done all this with me and for me, it is obvious that you, Father, are for me. Since you, Almighty, Sovereign God, are for me, then nothing can prevail against me.

Lord Jesus, you are at the right hand of the Father, and you make intercession for me. Nothing can separate me from your love, Lord Jesus, nor from the love of our father.

I hear your voice. You know me. You give me eternal life, and I never perish, neither can anything or anyone snatch me out of your hand.

To Me

Romans 8

Good morning, Holy Spirit, thank you for your presence in me and for your communion with me. You testify to my spirit that I am a child of God.

Since, by the Father’s grace, I am a child of God, I am an heir and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. I suffer challenges and various trials in the faith that I may also be glorified together with Jesus.

I know that whatever I have to deal with in this present life does not compare with your glory that is revealed to me. I, along with all of creation, wait eagerly on you, Father, to reveal yourself and to reveal those who are yours.

The whole creation groans and labors waiting on Jesus’s return and redemption. Until then, you Holy Spirit, minister the presence and the truth of God, my father, and Jesus, my brother, to me.

You move in communion with me and intercession for me with groanings that cannot be uttered. You search my heart, and you show me myself, to encourage and to correct, that my heart would agree with the will of God, my Father.

You Cry Out

Luke 11; Romans 8

Thank you, Father, for the gift of your Holy Spirit. Now the Spirit of God dwells in me, and I no longer live led by my flesh. To be carnally minded is death, but, by your grace, Lord, my mind is renewed by your Spirit and that is life and peace.

So, I am yours, Lord, and you dwell in me. Therefore, my body is dead because of sin, but my spirit is alive forever more because of your perfect righteousness, Lord Jesus.

The same Spirit that raised you from the dead, Lord Jesus, now dwells in me and gives life to my mortal body. Now I no longer live according to the flesh, but, by your spirit, I put to death the deeds of my body.

I am led by your spirit so I know I am your child, Father. I did not receive a spirit of bondage to fear, but I received the Spirit of Adoption. Now, Father, you cry out to me that “I am yours”, and I cry out to you that “you are mine”.

My Ransom

Job 19; 1 Thessalonians 4; John 14; Job 33

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your written word, for your Bible. You are the word, and you are the rock of my salvation. Your word is written with a pen of iron, and your word will never pass away.

By your word and the witness of your Holy Spirit, I know you have redeemed my life. You are my redeemer. In you, I have eternal life. You shall stand at last on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, I know I will see you again in my new flesh. I will see you and behold you, and so shall I always be with you, Lord Jesus.

Lord, you have given me the gift of your Holy Spirit, a messenger of truth, a comforter. He speaks to me of you and your word. He shows me my errors and leads me in paths of righteousness. He witnesses to me of my salvation and testifies to my deliverance from the pit. He shows me, Lord Jesus, that you yourself are my ransom.

My life is renewed every day by your presence. I see our Father, and I see his delight in me. He has restored my life and delivered me from destruction. He has put his light in my life. I am enlightened with you, Lord Jesus, the light of life.

Holy, Sovereign, Merciful

1 Corinthians 6; John 17; 1 Peter 2; Philippians 3; Ephesians 2; Job 1 & 2

Good morning, Lord, I love you, and I praise you. I bow before you. Thank you for your love for me and your call on my life. I belong to you. I have been bought with a price. I am no longer my own.

I thank you, Lord, that now I belong to you. I am in this world but no longer of it. I can enjoy your creation and my life in the flesh, but I do not take this life too seriously because my actual home is in heaven with you.

Here, on this earth, I am a pilgrim and a sojourner. But by your grace and decree, I am actually a citizen of heaven, a member of your household.

I came into this world with nothing, and I leave it, when you ordain, with nothing. You, Lord, give, and you take away. From you, I accept good and sometimes adversity. In all cases, I bless your holy, sovereign, merciful name.

There Is Therefore

Romans 7; Ephesians 2 & 1; Colossians 1; Romans 8

Now, my old nature still dwells in my flesh, and if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. Now by faith in Christ, I have been born from above, and you, Father, have filled me with a new nature, a new man, your very Spirit.

That person delights in your law, Father, and naturally enjoys obedience to your word and service to you as Almighty God. That person is the Holy Spirit, the very person of Christ Jesus.

Christ in me is your way of assuring my salvation. So I am delivered from the tyranny of the old nature, and now your new, eternal nature dwells in me until you call me home. I live in the law of the Spirit of Christ Jesus, and that law has made me free from the law of sin and death. There is therefore now no condemnation for me.

New Man In Me

Romans 7

Now, Father, by your grace, I see I am dead to the law through the body of Christ. Now this does not mean the law is sin. No! In fact, the law is holy, and your commandments are holy, just, and good.

What it does mean is that I am no longer seeking salvation based on my obeying the law. Instead, I am joined to another way of salvation, Father. I’m relying on your way of salvation through faith in Jesus who you raised from the dead.

I have been delivered from the law, so that I can serve you now, Father, in the newness of the spirit and not in the oldness of the letter of the law.

Now while I live in this flesh, I will not always do what I should, and sometimes I will do the very thing you and I hate. That man is my old man who sin still dwells in.

But now, by your new birth, there is a new man in me who delights in your law. Now, I am led by that man in my thoughts and intentions until, at your appointed time, you deliver me from this death into divine eternal life.

You Uphold

Isaiah 43; Ephesians 1; Isaiah 41; 2 Corinthians 5; Isaiah 41

I do not fear for I am yours, Lord. You have called me by name. You are the Lord my God, my Savior. By your choice and grace, I am precious in your sight.

You honor me. You have loved me from before the foundation of the world. I am called Christian, by your name, and I am created for your glory.

I am your servant, Father. You have chosen me, and you will not cast me away. I do not fear for you are with me. I am not dismayed for you are my God. You strengthen me. You sanctify me. You transform me.

In you, I am a new, eternal creation. Old things have passed away, behold all things have become new. In you, Christ Jesus, I have become the righteousness of God. You uphold me with your righteous right hand.

Instruments of Righteousness

Romans 5 & 6

There was a time in my life, Father, when sin reigned unto death, but, by your call and mercy, I have come to faith in Jesus, your Christ, as my Lord. Now grace reigns in my life through Christ’s righteousness to eternal life, to salvation. Thank you, Father.

Now I have been baptized into Christ Jesus. I have been baptized into his death and buried with him, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by your glory, Father, I also now walk in newness of life.

I am united together with Jesus first in the likeness of his death and now, forever united with him in the likeness of his resurrection.

My old man has been crucified with Christ that my body of sin has been rendered useless, i.e. it has no effect on my “real” life that is now lived in Christ and by Christ.

Therefore, I know that I am dead to sin but alive to you, Father, in Christ Jesus, my Lord. Sin no longer reigns in my mortal body, and I no longer obey its lusts. My members are yielded unto you, Father, as instruments of righteousness.
