Riches and Glory of Being

Ephesians 1

Father, your grace is glorious. Thank you that, for your own reasons, you chose me to love. You determined, before the foundation of the world, that I would be holy and blameless before you, redeemed from and forgiven of my sins through Christ Jesus’s blood according to the riches of your grace which abounded to me.

You predestined me to be your child by adoption through the redeeming grace of Jesus and according to your good pleasure. Now, purely by grace, I’m accepted in the beloved. I am a child of God.

I am gathered together with all who are yours in Christ. In Christ, I have obtained an inheritance

You, Father, predestined me for all this new, eternal life according to your purposes. You worked out all things in my life and in your kingdom according to the council of your will. And so, today I live in the blessed hope of your calling and in the riches of the glory of being your inheritance.

By Whom

Galatians 5 & 6

So, by faith working through love, I have liberty from trying to earn my salvation. Instead, I stand fast in the liberty by which Christ has set me free.

I belong to Jesus, and I recognize that I am saved by the finished work of my Lord Jesus. I now live in the Spirit of God, and I am quickened and led by the Spirit.

God’s spirit dwells in me and renews my mind. I am transformed from a person sold to sin to a person belonging to you, Father.

Now I walk in your spirit and reap the fruit of your spirit. Love, joy, and peace fill my heart now, Father. Patience, gentleness, and goodness fill my days. I have a life filled with faith, meekness, and temperance.

All this provision is not by my good works or smarts, instead it is mine because of the perfect life and atoning sacrifice of my Lord Jesus, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I have been crucified to the world.

True Salvation

Galatians 5 & 6

Father, I see that I become estranged from faith in Christ if I begin to try to “be saved by my good works” or by keeping the details of some group’s religious laws. For in Christ Jesus, trying to “earn” your kingdom through good works of my flesh avails nothing.

What is important to you in your provision of salvation is becoming a new creation. True salvation comes to each of us who is yours, Father, by being born from above.

Your true salvation is a sovereign, supernatural action of your Holy Spirit moving in each of the people of your choice and changing their heart. It is Christ in me by the actual presence of your person through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Now there are two persons in me, my old nature and the new nature who is Christ Jesus. I now know to sow to the new nature and to reckon the old fleshy nature dead. As I do that, my life is transformed from selfish and stubborn to loving and faith filled.

According to Your Promise

Galatians 3

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you have redeemed me from the curse of the law by bearing the curse for me. Now the blessing of Abraham has come upon me through you, Lord.

God, our father, made a covenant with Abraham and his seed, not many seeds, but one seed, and that seed is you, Christ Jesus. By being in Christ, I am in that covenant and nothing can annul that because it was given and is implemented by God, our father, through his promise and oath.

So, I believe you, Father, and that is counted to me as righteousness, and I am saved by faith in Jesus as your Messiah, and I receive the indwelling presence and living power of your Holy Spirit, by this faith.

Your law tutors me as to the right and wrong and shows me my need for a savior. But now that faith has come, I no longer need the tutor. For now, I am your son, Father, through faith in Christ Jesus.

I have put on Christ, and you, Lord Jesus, have fitted me with your presence. I belong to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, according to your promise.

Here and Now, and Forever

Matthew 6; Luke 10; Matthew 6

Father, I am your son, by your grace and choice, and you are my Father in Heaven. You make the sun rise on the evil and on the good, and you send rain on the just and on the unjust.

You have birthed me from above by your word and by your Holy Spirit, who now lives in me and leads me. Therefore, I am perfect, Lord, as you are perfect.

I forgive others as you have forgiven me, Father. I hallow your name. I live in your kingdom here and now, and forever.

I do not worry about my life. My life now, in Christ, is much more than treasure, mammon, food, or clothing. All these things are temporal, and you, Father, know my need for them before I even ask.

I know the thing that is needed. I choose the good part. I seek first your kingdom, Father, and I live in the righteousness that is imputed to me through Christ. Therefore, I do not worry, because Almighty God cares for me.

Precious & Sure

Ephesians 2; Isaiah 28

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for you yourself are my peace. You have broken down all that separated me from our father. By your righteous life and atoning sacrifice, you have abolished the enmity between me and our father.

You have created me new in you and reconciled me to God, forever. Now, I am at peace with our father, and I have ceaseless access to you and the Father, through the Holy Spirit.

I am no longer a stranger and foreigner, but now, I am a fellow citizen with the saints and a member of your household, Father. My faith is built on the witness of your apostles and prophets, and your Messiah, Christ Jesus, is the chief cornerstone, a precious stone, a sure foundation.

No Longer

Galatians 1 & 2

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you gave yourself as the atonement for my sins so that you would deliver me from this present evil age, according to the will and determination of God, our father.

Father, you have called me to the grace of Christ Jesus and your Gospel of Salvation. I cling to your gospel as set forth in your scripture.

There are false teachers who would trouble your people and pervert your gospel with “another” gospel. You make it clear that there is only one gospel and that anyone who corrupts your gospel is acursed.

So, Holy Spirit, renew my mind and guard my mind that I would stay clear on your gospel. I know that I am not, and never will be, justified by works of the law, but I am always, and only, justified by faith in Jesus Christ. For, by the works of the law, no flesh shall be justified.

For I, through the law, died to the law that I might live to you, Father. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the son of God, my Lord Jesus, who loves me, and who gave himself for me.

Sufficient

2 Corinthians 12 & 13; Romans 8; John 10; 1 Peter 5

Hallelujah, Father, your grace is sufficient for me, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Christ and his power dwell in me.

So, I live with you, Lord Jesus, by the power of God, our father.

I examine myself, and I know I have faith. Sometimes it is strong and sometimes not as strong, but I know it is there, so I know I am saved, and I know that you, Lord Jesus, are in me.

In Christ, I am complete. I am comforted, and I have the mind of Christ. I live in peace. You, Father, the God of Love and Peace, are with me and for me.

Today, I thank you, Father, for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and for your divine love, and for the communion of the Holy Spirit. Nothing and no one can separate me from your person and presence, Father, and nothing can pluck me from your hand.

It is settled. I am perfected, established, strengthened, and settled with you, Father, forever.

I Wrestle

2 Corinthians 7

I wrestle with the tests and temptations of the outside world, Lord. I sometimes seem to slide back towards the flesh and it’s filth, but, hallelujah, these moments quickly lead me to godly sorrow and repentance. So, I regret the weakness, but I rejoice in the quick repentance and sensitive recognition of the temptation.

Godly sorrow produces a determination not to become enslaved again to sin. It produces a sincere humility and a realization of the potential for hypocrisy in my fleshy mind, and therefore, I become stronger in my determination to draw close to you, Father, and to be led in every decision by you, Holy Spirit.

Therefore, I am filled with comfort even in these temptations because I see you working in me to convict me of my human weaknesses, and I see my total dependence on your presence in me.

But also, in that dependence, I am guaranteed forgiveness and victory over sin. You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are faithful and sovereign to cleanse me from all filthiness of the flesh and to perfect me in holiness and in the fear of you. Thank you.

Glory to Glory

2 Corinthians 5 & 3

Thank you, Father, that by your grace and call, I am in Christ Jesus. Through faith in Jesus as your Messiah and my Lord, I have been born again. I am a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new. Now everything about me is of you, Father.

The veil has been taken from my eyes, and I see your unseen things, Father, the unseen things that are eternal. I don’t, by any means, understand it all, but I see enough to have faith.

I know that you are my heavenly father, and that you are the Almighty, Sovereign Spirit. I know that where you are there is liberty and divine glory. I know that your Holy Spirit dwells in me now, and I behold and commune with you through him.

I am transformed into the image of the Lord Jesus, day by day, decision by decision, thought by thought. I am led by your spirit, Father, and we move from glory to glory, together.
