Able

Hebrews 2 & 3

Lord Jesus, you are High Priest and Apostle of my confession. God, our father, appointed you, and you are faithful to him. You are faithful to all of us who are yours.

I am yours, and I hold fast to my faith in you as my savior. You are the Captain of my salvation. You, Lord Jesus, are the one who sanctifies, and you have sanctified me. I am one with you, Lord, and you call me brother.

You, yourself, took on flesh and blood, like me, that through your atoning death, you destroyed him who had the power of death, that is the devil. In that way, you released me from the bondage of the fear of death.

You were made like me so you could be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, our father. You made propitiation for my sins. You were tempted, and so you are able to aid me when I am tempted.

Poured Out Abundantly

Titus 2 & 3

I do not understand it all, Father, and I certainly haven’t earned it, but nevertheless, you, for your own purposes and by your grace, have chosen me and have decided sovereignly to redeem me from every lawless deed and to purify me to be one of your special people, zealous to be of use to you.

By your grace and mercy, you brought salvation to men. You have taught me to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. You have filled me with a nature who lives soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.

Now through faith and in communion with you, Holy Spirit, I look forward with blessed hope to the glorious appearing of my great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for me according to your mercy, Father.

You, Lord Jesus, saved me through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom you poured out on me abundantly.

Complete and Overflowing

Habakkuk 3; Ephesians 2; John 8; Malachi 3

Lord God, you are my strength, my hope, and my salvation. You make my feet like deers feet. You make me to walk on the high hills.

Times may be tough. Fruit and food may fail. Our land may be cut up and separated, yet I will rejoice in you, Father. I will joy in you because you are the God who saves.

By your grace, through faith in Jesus, your Christ, Father, you have saved me. I continue in your word. I am your disciple indeed. I know your truth, and your truth has set me free.

I fear and hallow you, Father. I meditate on your glory and love. I am yours. You make me precious to you. You spare me like a father spares a son who serves him.

You have opened the wonders of heaven for me. You pour out, from heaven, the blessing of your presence indwelling me. I am filled with your fullness, complete and overflowing.

Joyous

2 Timothy 4; Hebrews 12

Lord Jesus, your spirit witnesses and communes with my spirit. Your grace covers me. I am enlightened and transformed. You, Lord, stand with me and strengthen me. You deliver me from every evil work, and you preserve me for your heavenly kingdom.

I lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles me, and I run with endurance the race you have set before me. I keep my eyes on you, Lord Jesus, and on your word. You write my life story, and it is joyous.

Complete and Equipped

2 Timothy 3; Matthew 6; 2 Timothy 3

Today, Father, led by your spirit, I pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with all the other believers you have placed with me. I have a pure heart. I avoid foolish and ignorant disputes.

In the last days, times are perilous. People are lost, loving themselves; chasing after money, unforgiving, unthankful, blasphemers, immoral, and hate filled. Many claim to have godliness, but deny your power and way, Father.

Many are captive to false teaching and loaded down with sins. They are always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Even those who act as priests and wise men resist the truth and lead with corrupt minds. Their folly will show up, and when you are ready, Lord, you will stop them.

But I, and all who are yours, follow your doctrine carefully. We seek your righteousness and your kingdom above all else. That may not always be popular, but I will live Godly in Christ, and I will continue in the things I have learned.

Your word makes me wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. By the power of your living word, I am yours, a person complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Until That Day

2 Timothy 1

Father, by your indwelling Holy Spirit, you have filled me with divine power and love and a sound mind. I believe your word, Lord Jesus.

You have saved me and called me to a holy calling, not because of my works, but according to your own purpose and grace which was assigned to me in Christ Jesus before time began.

Now, Lord Jesus, your call and grace are revealed to me by the power of your word and the witness of your indwelling Holy Spirit. Now, Lord, I am no longer dead in sin. You have brought me to life and shown me immortality through your gospel.

You have appointed me elder and teacher to others. Some believe and some don’t, but, whatever, I am not ashamed of your gospel. I believe you, and I am persuaded that you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are able to keep all that I have committed to you until that day that Christ returns and a new heaven and a new earth begin.

From the Beginning

2 Thessalonians 2; Romans 8

I give thanks to you, Father. From the beginning, you chose me for salvation, through sanctification, by your spirit and by belief in the truth. You called me to your gospel, and I was filled with the glory of the very person of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, I stand fast and hold to the good doctrine of your word. You love me and give me everlasting consolation and good hope by your grace. You comfort my heart and establish me in every good word and work.

I do obey, and I do love you, not always perfectly, but diligently and with endurance. You are faithful to me, Father. You establish your person in me, and you guard me from the evil one. You deliver me from unreasonable and wicked people, and situations.

You direct my heart into your divine love and into the patience of Christ. I am conformed to the image of my Lord and Savior, Jesus, your Christ.

According to Your Riches

Galatians 4; Isaiah 26; Galatians 4; 1 John 4

I rejoice in you, Lord, and in your salvation. I know you and your word, Father, so I do not worry, instead I pray.

I make my request known to you, and I know you hear me. You fill me and commune with me, and I have peace, because you are peace. In your presence is perfect peace. You guard my heart and mind as I dwell with Jesus.

Now your peace does not mean that I get everything I want. Sometimes I am abased, and I do not understand the suffering. But, by your word and your Holy Spirit, I have learned to be content.

I can have peace and joy even in the hard times. I can do all these things because you, Lord Jesus, strengthen me, and you temper me so that I am prepared for any spiritual fight.

You supply everything I need, according to your riches in glory, in Christ Jesus. I am able because he who dwells in me is perfectly able.

Learned and Received and Heard and Seen

Philippians 3 & 4

I rejoice always. My mind is set on heavenly things, Father, for by your grace, my citizenship is in heaven. I eagerly await my savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform my lowly body that it may be conformed to his glorious body, by the power that enables him to subject all things to himself.

Therefore, I rejoice. I am gentle, Lord, because I know you are with me and dwell in me. I am not anxious about anything, instead I commune with you. I am thankful in all situations, and I make my request known to you.

I know you hear me and love me with a steadfast love. Your peace, Lord Jesus, which surpasses understanding, guards my heart and my mind. I do the things that I have learned and received and heard and seen from your word, Lord, and you, the God of Peace, are with me. You lead me in all things, and you strengthen me.

Peace, Sure Hope, and Joy

Philippians 3

Father, today I rejoice in Christ Jesus and in the salvation I have because of his finished work. My salvation is a gift from you, through faith in Christ as your Messiah. I did not “earn” my salvation. I put no confidence in my fleshy actions to earn your love and your gift of salvation.

I do not rely on any righteousness I might have, instead I hold to the righteousness which is from you, Father, through faith in Christ. I know him and the power of his resurrection, and I have fellowship with my Lord Jesus in the tribulation and suffering that comes in this life in the flesh.

I am conformed to you, Lord Jesus, by dying each day to the carnal lusts and being raised with you each day in spirit and in truth.

Today, I forget those things that are behind, and I reach forward to those things which are ahead. Today, I live in your call on my life, Lord, in perfect harmony and communion with you. I am led by your Holy Spirit and filled with peace, sure hope, and joy.
