Continued Entrusting

1 Peter 2; Romans 6; 1 Peter 2

Lord Jesus, you lived gracious in the sight of our father. You suffered for being good and godly. You suffered for me and are now an example of how I should live in pleasing to our father.

You committed no sin, neither was deceit found in your mouth. When you were reviled, you did not revile in return. When you suffered, you did not threaten, instead you continued entrusting yourself to God, our father, who is the perfect and sovereign judge.

You bore my sins in your body on the cross, that I would die to sin and live to righteousness. By your wounds, I have been justified, and reconciled back to God, and adopted into the family of God. Now, by your grace and atoning sacrifice, I am free of the penalty and power of sin.

I am dead to sin and alive to you, Father, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Now I live every moment in that freedom, living as your servant, Father. I honor everyone. I love the brotherhood. I fear you, Father, and I obey the legitimate authorities.
